Hey respect for keeping going mate. Personally I would get all the pipe work and that steering rack off and not put any suspension back on. There is no need as you have the body fixed on that brilliant timber frame. Sometimes you just have to hold back on 'getting this bad boy back on its wheels'. You just take one step at a time with these sort of restorations. And as you are doing a great job with the panelwork don't let fittings get in your way. When all the floor is in and painted and sealed THEN get all the under parts back on. Oh and yes have those trailing arms back to original aluminium as they were built. Props mate from the other side of the Pond.

If you’re only replacing a section of the floor, are you going to butt weld the sections together ? That’s going to be really hard getting a tight gap that won’t need much filler rod. I thing you’re much better off removing the whole floor, and welding in back at the factory pinch weld. This will be a much easier joint, as the pinch weld is designed to be clamped and welded. It will also be much stronger and will look a lot better .
