Head below the shoulders and a dropped tail means you need to acknowledge his posture and make it obvious that you aren’t scared. (BTW if you aren’t scared you are numb or stupid, but you have to let him know you aren’t). These animals are way smarter then you think, way faster then you are and able to deal out and receive incredible amounts of pain and injury. I like to keep a pair of gloves handy to slap them with or simply slap them together to make noise because if they realize that’s all you got they may simply plow you over.

You know, I have to thank you for your video's. We are in Canada, Alberta and raise Beef cows. There is no hooftrimmer anywhere near us and if you want one to travel all the way to us you need to have enough animals to make it worth while for the trimmer. Which means they are only in the area maybe once a year, if that. So if there is an animal with an acute foot problem and is lame because of it....... it's a bad situation all around. Vets around here don't deal with foot problems anymore either, none of them has a tipping table or is set up to treat cattle with bad feet........ so the only option would be to load up the animal and take it for a 3 hour drive to the closest Vet being setup to help. Not my first option really. Tried to find hoof blocks or even trimming discs, nope, nobody carries them and one vet even said....... that's a waste of time, they fall off right away anyway. And here I was with a bull severely lame on a front foot. Thanks to you and your videos, finding a supplier across the country who carries hoof blocks, good glue and trimming discs I was able to take care of the bull and a cow of our own. Of course I'm not as efficient and trained as you!!!! But I did as good as I could under the circumstances and both animals are back to being sound on their feet and have nice regrowth coming in. So thanks again for what you do, from the other side of the planet.

It is because Americans desire that pig snout to exaggerate the "bulldog" look. I don't know why, but American breeders do alot of things much much different when it comes to breeding. Europe is very anal about that kind of thing which is good. Check out the European Dobies and American Dobies difference, also the GSD.. Americans bred that poor backside into the GSD for "more powerful lunge"

I love learning things even if I won’t have any real life practical application for it. It’s still fascinating. I love seeing Scotland and hearing the gentle moos and listening to you explain things. I like to even rewatch ones I’ve already seen because it’s very relaxing.

Mate, the sound I made upon seeing Steve was no where near human. 😂 That wee boy is too cute to handle!

I commented recently asking for a video to show a healed foot from start to finish and this is exactly what I wanted. The before photo/video of that bulls foot looked very bad but the heal looking amazing! Just what my mind needed haha. I've watched plenty of your videos of sore feet and wondered what the heal would look like so this is even more satisfying than past videos. Well done! Must be nice to do your job and see your progress and know you've made a proper difference!

@@TheHoofGP if you ever come to Ireland, we could do with you! We've got 3 lame beef cattle sadly. But we've had someone come out and it seems to be problems further up the leg. Times like these you wish it was just a minor hoof problem

I'm addicted. Binge watching! I feel such pity for these cows suffering in silence. Thank you farmers for caring, thank you trimmers for helping. Let's donate andpray as hard as we can for all of them!
