I'm so _very_ sorry to read about your awful loss. I can't imagine your pain (I honestly hope I'm the first of us to go because I couldn't manage without my old feller. He'll cope better than me. That is a matter of fact, especially as we're both disabled). I do hope you're starting to mend and it's great to see that there's something which has helped. When you're ready, may I suggest you do something like learn something you always wanted to do? Give yourself something positive to focus on. It really doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's your choice. Don't let anyone tell you how to, or how long to grieve. That's a very personal thing. Other people's experiences are theirs, not yours. I hope you manage to come through this time and are able to laugh again. Much love to you and your family x

Your statement is absolutely true, but I want to add a little bit of lesser known info. „OG“ was first used in the 90s and meant „Original Gangster“ (as you said), but the 90s HipHop scene took the acronym from the weed growing scene in California where it was used before and stood for „Ocean Grown“, meaning weed which was grown outside, near the ocean and in rich, salty air.

I'm not a farmer or even remotely associated with farm activities, but I do thank the algorithm for exposing me to your videos. It is refreshing to see and learn about things I don't know about. I was wondering, could you perhaps explain the anatomy of a cow hoof? It almost looks like the parts you trim would be the equivalent of our finger nails, only much thicker. How did you come across this as a job / what got you interested in this as a profession? How did you learn how to do this? And my final question is... How did people in the past do this without the tools you use today?

Bio cleanliness is sooo important between farms. Many moons ago when I had a horse stabled, some people went "barn hopping". They went to the 3 local stables. We know they to all 3 as all 3 barns were hit with strangles at the same time. Many horses, including my own and the 3 month old foal got strangles. I have so appreciated seeing the lengths you go to to keep your equipment clean. I've seen other trimmers visit other dairy farms, and I just cant watch. Their equipment is just caked. I'm not a neetnik, not by any means but germs that effects others livelihood and property must not be spread. (Sorry for the book!)

You make the video/shows or whatever extremely interesting. Thank you so much. I’m a big believer in 1)it’s good to learn something new all the time. 2) your never to old to learn something new 3) there’s a statement I learnt something new today & it’s only Monday. Stay safe & continue to help those cows & bulls. What is your job title? (Hoof trimmer) or what? & do you also do other animals like horses or all animals that have hooves? Did you go to school to learn how to do this? Or was it a family business? Or was it learn on the job & build your business by word of mouth from customers. Whatever or however you started out to me your very good at your job. Again Thank You!!! ❤😂😮😂❤

I’m so sorry your horses got the strangles…no light matter and extremely affects the horses and as you know, it is expensive and stressful to treat. Graeme is a very responsible , efficient and carrying professional; he’s very affectionate as well to his charges and does his work with always the comfort of the cattle.. That horse should have been isolated if it was known but as it is nasty and can be a sneaky disease; it’s wise to at least not allow your horses direct contact with other horses from a different herd/ stable, nor allow them to share their water and feed. It can even be passed onto dogs, cattle, people .I do Hope that your horses recovered without serious complications. I have heard that infection creates some immunity, but why risk it?

Graeme, OG means Original Gangster - it’s slang for someone who’s incredibly exceptional, authentic, or “old-school.” I’m sorry the Wopa didn’t work out - if I remember correctly, the original plan was to have two different hoof trimming capabilities. Craig and Kevin would do routine trims and you would be a stand-alone “special case” trimmer with a crush you could move about by yourself (the Wopa). I thought is sounded like a really good strategy for expanding your operation.

I love this channel so much. I love the educational, fascinating (almost Dr. Pimple Popper esque satisfaction/interest). And the beautiful scenery of Scotland makes the videos all the more special. Seems like such a genuinely sincere and good person and he wakes up everyday with the best attitude. I am so happy that the channel has grown like it has and his family are getting to receive the rewards of his hard work, which I know makes him very happy.

It’s the exciting stuff that originally brought me to the channel. KZbin recommended due to my interest in Pimple Popper. But it’s videos like this that I look forward to now. I love the way he explains things even though I don’t even know anyone who owns cows! I find the whole thing of it so calming and relaxing. Especially the drone footage!

OG (from what I remember) stands for Original Gangster. In your case it means someone who's been there since the beginning. Oddly enough The Hoof GP popped up on KZbin for me after watching Dr. Pimple Popper. 🤔 Guess KZbin is getting to know what I like to watch. I also love animals (although I can admit I'm slightly fearful of cows even though I've been around them all my life, my parents raise beef cattle and my grandparents milked when I was a kid) so I get the added benefit of knowing how much you're helping these simple creatures feel better.

I grew up on a 45,000 acre South Texas ranch. My grandfather bred Beefmaster cattle and we had lots of horses, too. My experience with cattle is much different than what you do. Our cattle didn't need hoof trims because our soil is soft, it's called sandy loam. But I did learn how to trim horse hoofs, although they didn't need shodding on that soft soil and grass. We had no concrete, most of our roads are coleche, a few paved with blacktop. Lots of our neighbors raised dairy cows, Jerseys, and that's where Falfurrias butter used to be made.

When your equipment is clean it looks better to the people paying for your services, its healthier for the cows because you're not transferring anything from one farm to another, and its better for the people using the equipment, not just because it IS clean but also because you feel better because it's clean and ready.

I really like the Scottish accent in general, but there's something special about how the Scots pronounce "stone." Edit: Aww. Mrs. HGP delivering sandwiches reminds me of when Dad'd forget his lunch at home and Mom'd have me ride my bike over to his work to deliver it to him. I'd often hang out for a while just chatting or running little errands or just being with my dad. The place he worked at had a *lot* of problems and often didn't treat Dad well at all, but I'm grateful they let this weird kid lurk around the office.
