Fantastic storyline great acting between the two. You knew what was coming but it hit you hard. And this is real stuff not fantasy this is what happens in War. Hang in there guys. Get yourselves a really good military history coordinator every time you do a movie they're worth the time. Even a history buff knows the rules knows the weapons, especially these people will tear you apart if you don't use the right stuff that comes to uniforms, what people carried, etc. and it's not that hard to look up yoursel, if you don't have time assign the job to somebody who wants to be an intern. Make them put it in writing don't take it as their word you know what I mean. Then check it yourself just before you put the orders for costuming and your costume person should pretty well know what they're doing too or know how to put it together. That way you don't make mistakes that people are putting down here for all the world to see. Sadly all they're seeing is the mistakes and not the Amazing Story which draws away from the total quality of the film. Filming historical periods are so hard but so important I really appreciate you guys doing this it's easy to do fantasy because you can do anything you want. Keep it up maybe someday you'll be like Burns on PBS doing the big giant documentary reproductions every 20 years or so they redo them because it has to be redone. As the quality, delivery and audio visual systems of our world change and the history changes too, as more research is done, more stories are told and basically the way it's told is changed also. Filmographers willing to work in the strict environment that history requires and most film people won't do it can find themselves in a very nice place. I hope you guys will continue working in this genre of historical short films been building up to a full film I've seen your other stuff it's good to killer agent is good but with this one short film you've shown you have that capability & especially the heart. this could have been a bunch of fighting people dying that kind of thing lots of explosions lots of action that usually see in a War event. instead you saw heart here. Caring comradeship and the understanding between two enemies that they really didn't want to kill each other they just wanted to get through the war. What most people don't understand there was a big difference between the SS Soldier and the professional German Soldier and the soldiers who was forced into the German military from other countries. SS Soldier cannot receive a pension. they are considered a terrorist to this day a professional German Soldier can receive a pension for they were forced by their country to go to war. I know you probably don't read very many of these messages because a lot of them were negative but I hope you read this one because think you guys have a chance I've seen a lot of these films I'm disabled and unfortunately I'm stuck a lot of times flat on my back unable to move and I get stuck just watching KZbin so I see a lot of junk but this short was definitely worth the time and the view.. seen your other videos they all are really good and hope that you follow through on the killer agent series and come up with a to web series on that I think it would be really cool

Of course, however there are 80 percent lowers available for DIY producing a 1911. Such could have been purchased to produce a replica, and finished accordingly. Thus saving a fair amount of money. Then again, a gun dealer or other person who has an original 1911 could have been approached. Of course, a Browning Hi-Power could have been used, which such pistols were carried by some GI's during WWII. Still, as you said, it was a nice film indeed and I quite enjoyed it.

What the hell is a german doing with an M1 Garand
@eod1sg6 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing but they actually explain it in the film. Buck asks Hanz why he has an American "Carbine" and Hanz says it was issued to him and implies that the shots would confuse the enemy. The M1 Garand rifle has a very distinctive sound and its semi-automatic fire would have been very noticeable compared to the German K98 bolt action rifle that he should have been carrying. The reason was somewhat plausible and may have occurred during the war. The Germans did in fact use deceptions along these lines to confuse the U.S. Troops. Now the real problem that I had, as has been mentioned already, was the pistol. That should have been taken care of by having someone on the production with a better knowledge of weapons.
@vanguardstudiosvfx5 жыл бұрын
Hello! In the film it is implied by Hanz (The German Medic) that the German army had been recollecting Allied weaponry to confuse other allied troops or distract them from enemy position. Thus, Hans was handed a Garand by the Germans so he would not give out their position through sound.

THIS IS NOT CRITICISM. The ending was very poignant. But I can't get the thought out of my head of an ending where the German returns the American's dog tag & photo to his family years after the war, when he's an old man.
@Natadorian4 жыл бұрын
I was legit thinking the same thing. I studied abroad in France for 6 and ½ weeks and my host mom lived on a WW2 site. They found an American dog tag and said she believed he is still alive. She let me keep the tag and I want to return it to him so bad if he is still alive or give it to his family. The Germans occupied the house I lived in until the allies came into France. It felt weird to know I was living where many people fought and died for their countries.

@@Natadorian- Virtually all of Europe is a battleground. Hardly a square metre that hasn't had blood spilled over it. Makes me think of a cartoon: two space aliens are cruising in a “Jetsons” style space car over a battlefield where two armies are stalking one another. One space guy says to the other, “Apparently the main activity of earthmen is hunting.”

When the German medic said ‘’they’ll kill us both’, that’s crazy. The medic was doing what medics are expected to do....the Wehrmacht by and large followed the laws of land warfare (on the western front moreso than the East- armies tend to give as good as they get....and wouldn’t have batted an eye at a medic helping someone who was wounded; was he supposed to be Waffen SS or something? I myself am a veteran of the 82d (ABN) DIV and am not naive on these matters, but some Wehrmacht Sani doing what Sanis do is nothing. Still a great story though. Loved it. Prisoners of war of the US were, after SS were culled, transported to the USA where conditions were pretty good. Commandos were generally unable to handle prisoners so killed them all. As Germany ran out of food and supplies, conditions worsened for POWs. German military ate first. Once Allied air forces obtained near-total air supremacy, German ground transport could move only at night, hoping for overcast and no moonlight. Trains and trucks hid in tunnels in the daylight.

There are many things that are incorrect in this film. First, wrong haircut for a US Army person jumping into combat. Second, why would a tank fire a canon at a single soldier? They wouldn't they would use a machine gun. Third, the German wore a Red Cross armband. People, either Ally or Axis, wearing such a device were allowed to carry a weapon. Fourth, the gun was wrapped in new/unused hessian which only a WWII sniper might have employed and then it would be deliberately be darkened. 'nuf sed.
