My "dress" watch face is from 'dfaina'. He offers many faces that look amazingly like Swiss watches. My favorite is the Omega Divemaster and the Omega Speedmaster. Amazing work and highly customizable too!

On my 51mm Carbon DLC, for “dress watch” I like the simplicity of deep dive, with all the data fields turned off, with the exception of the date field. Combined with my carbon DLC band, it looks the absolute business 👌

The steps, timer, and other complications on the Industrial Watch face are inaccurate and not always work. Sometimes, the step count appears as a small bar, while other times it shows multiple bars for the same steps. The same issue occurs with the timer complication: a 30-minute timer shows a small orange bar, but a 60-minute timer still shows just one bar. I love the industrial design, but if the functionality is unreliable, it’s essentially useless. Have you experienced anything similar?

I don't know if there's anybody crazier about watch faces than me. I've spent a lot of money on watch faces. I probably change. Watch faces everyday. I think one issue no one is talking about is a fact they got rid of a lot of watch faces and there isn't a big default selection like there has been in the past. And now Garmin is charging $5 for most of their watch faces that don't even look as nice as some of the default ones.

All of those watch face versions are too overloaded… I prefer to use analog watch face without any visual noise. For example the rock vers is ok but I dont need this ridiculous rock imitatied painting on the background and pointless digital clock numbers. I hope they will give a possibility with next update to propose more flexibility. Another problem in my point of view is too small font size in additional fields.. as battery life, date etc…

The watch faces on Forerunner also combine gaudy colors and meh designs. I always run 3rd party WF on it... The heck knows their names, they are not displayed on the watch. Neither are the color schemes named.

Good stuff, I decided to finally change my watch faces after watching this. I agree with many of your styles, although I am into more of the reds/oranges and blue/yellow color schemes. I need to look into some new watch bands now. Do you know if Garmin or some third party is going to offer colored side sensor guards? Mine is black and would love to get some accent color there.

I've really been enjoying the Iron Grit, with green shift on. Always on display and gesture off. I've found that for most of my time in doors, even with gesture off the green is readable. If there was an option to disable the auto ambient light changing it would be even better.

@@DaveDoesFitness I found a Garmin forum question about the auto "ambient" light setting. With a possibility of turning it off via a software update. For me, with Green shift on, on several of the watch faces, and Gesture off, it very readable at all times. Just that sometimes the auto ambient light setting makes it a bit too dim. I was hoping with gesture off and green shift always on it may help with battery life also.

All of you guys probbaly know that standard digital wf from fenix7, than epixpro , and fenix 7 pro . With 6 data written around bezel , and another 3 on top of the time and 3 on bottom . So 12 datafields in one WF . In my opinion that was the best wf which garmin ever made . Is it still availible on fenix 8 ?

Great video - really enjoy your content. I added Radial Precison to my list for going out at night. I was so excited to get my F8 and once I saw the watch faces I too was very disappointed. I was hoping Garmin would bring back a few of the standard Fenix watch faces. I currently use Glance Pro, Glance Pro & ALVectorOne. I generally like the data rich faces that are larger as I need readers for up close. Maybe it’s time to get progressives. 😢

Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra. Is it just a Garmin thing that complications are not tappable/clickable? I love my Fenix8, but this does bother me that the complications don't act like interactive shortcuts like on the Apple Watch.

I recently put my Epix gen 2 pro up for sale and wasn’t impressed with the Fenix 8 at the price point, so taking a break from Garmin. Also, wasn’t impressed with Apples updates, but I have an Ultra 1 as well and with cellular/LTE, it gives me the peace of mind I need in a smart/fitness watch to be my sole daily driver. Curious, have you owned the ultra? The black one is sleek looking…wondering if you’ll review the watch and features. Thanks!

Hi, I've gone to the Connect IQ store and can't find any of these titles you have mentioned. I see Garmin made watch faces, but these are other designs. Are some of the designs limited to the US, as I'm UK based? Although some you have shown are pre-installed on Fenix 8 in the UK. Thanks for any information.

Also in the UK, all the watch faces mentioned can be added from the watch. Hold the middle button>watch face>bottom button>add new You should be able to scroll through all the faces mentioned and edit the styles. Not sure if it varies by F8 model? Would be very strange if it did. Hope this helps bud.

There are many bugs in the Fenix8.. Screen brightness in low light conditions makes my Felix 8 51 Amoled completely UNUSABLE!!! Also the watch lags even in the watch face menu.. it’s a horrible experience, never had these issues with my Fenix7X or my EPIXPRO 51!!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced... don't buy a Garmin. If you have a problem with your 1000.00, you can not expect Garmin to stand by their product. My screen faded prematurely, Garmin could care less.

I always run in the dark and while i'm running and looking at my Fenix ​​8 screen I can't even see clearly my features scores on the watchface because the watch dims too dark (50% or less) in the dark. WTF is this? In the dark, the watch should provide 100% light instead of dimming.

I'm not typically running when it's too dark so I haven't had that issue, but try to check out Settings -> Focus Modes -> Activities -> Display & Brightness. You can crank it all the way up and have it not time out. Not sure if ambient sensors would still dim it. Perhaps a color shift option could help as well?

@@DaveDoesFitness Just sit on the couch at home and turn off all the lights. You will notice that the AOD only works at 50% light. Then take your phone and shine the light from your phone on the Amoled screen. Then the AOD suddenly goes to 100% brightness. This is really poorly designed. I use the ''Data dash'' watch face and I can see the large statistics such as the time fine, but the smaller statistics such as heart rate, body battery, stress just cannot be read in the dark. But if the AOD dims during the day and you walk in the sun, the AOD will update the light to 100%. This is really poorly designed and not thought through at all.

@@koshi8553 Garmin is a watch for adventure people, including people who do activities in the dark. There are even people who go for a walk through the forest in the middle of the night. And then Garmin makes a watch that is only clearly visible during the day and not at night. How weird is it that the watch dims in the dark lol. I have also looked for solutions and there are simply none. Garmin really messed up.

As an Epix Pro Gen2 (51mm) owner, the OLED display technology Garmin is using for these watches is trash .... considering this is 2024 going into 2025. The "at a glanace" angles are horrible, with their Always On Display (AOD). Considering these particular watches, with LARGER BATTERIES, should allow the USER to decide how they want to set the intensity of the AOD.
