Great video! I love the pinned activities as there are 3 activities I do daily. Any idea if wireless file transfer will be added in the future? It is kind of ridiculous that you have to plug the watch to a computer to retrieve your voice memos and screenshots.

And the cool thing is, my company just dumps money into my health savings account every year and I have tons of money in it. My best friend is my doctor so he wrote me a brief medical necessity letter describing my need for a fitness watch and a heart rate monitor so I got the watch and the Garmin scale for free! Woo hoo! 😂

Great start to this watch. Now we need autobrightness feature either removed or the ability to turn on and off for the AMOLED versions. We need a much louder speaker for hearing the other person when on a phone call. More watch faces (older versions that were on the Epix Pro 51mm without having to pay for them). More bugs need to be fixed, Garmin is working quickly to fix them. Thanks.

Good review. The ease of changing the data fields for an activity look great. I like to keep my screens simple and enlarging the font is important as I can’t read small text without glasses. I have the 935 which has been amazing. But tough to read the screen when I am in motion. I now also have the apple plus which has great visibility but the rest isn’t great for a triathlete.

Great video, learned some things. Only issue I have is I can’t get my text messages from my iPhone to my Fenix 8 Solar. I’ve tried just about everything. I don’t even care about being able to read them, I just want to know if I’ve got a text. Phone calls go through no problem and app notifications. Just no texts. My only gripe with the watch. iOS 18 if that has anything to do with it.

Thank you for your question. Speaking for myself, I get about 2 weeks between charges with my fenix 8 AMOLED in gesture mode. This includes one workout per day (either indoor or outdoor) and sometimes with music playing during my workout. I also use the flashlight daily (it's just so convenient in low-light conditions). Of course, battery life can vary based on numerous factors and use cases. I hope this helps. - KB

Voice Command is nice, but if you try to start a 3 min timer in german, there is a bug, the watch starts a 1 min timer. Other timer works, like 10 min or whatever, crazy. pls fix that :)

Please correct the bugs in the Fenix8.. Screen brightness in low light conditions makes my Fenix 8 51 Amoled completely UNUSABLE!!! Also the watch lags even in the watch face menu.. it’s a horrible experience, never had these issues with my Fenix7X or my EPIXPRO 51!!

Scrolling the menus is sticky even in your own video, it’s far from fluid. Ime that gets worse with use as data builds up. If that’s what’s it’s like new what will it be like after a year or so? …oh and just seen how responsive the phone is compared to the watch. Swipe…..menu moves. Phone it’s instant. Is this good enough ? It’s laggy as

Thank you for your comment. When setting up your data fields, you can select the number of fields you see on one page. The more data fields you have, the smaller the text will be. If you select to see fewer data fields on one page, the text will be larger. I hope this helps. -KB

i am just disappointed. The price is absurd, the new features are extremely niche. I have been waiting for the fenix 8 as i wanted to upgrade form my fenix 6 pro, but i cannot justify the 1200€ investment at all to myself. I would have been fine with a small increment upgrade for a little higher price, but what exactly does the 8 offer for 1100€+? Apart from better solar on the mip i cannot think of anything thats at all important to me. I might just have to move on from garmin after 6 years of daily tracking

@@hewster1 scuba diving is a rather niche sport, would you say it's not? They also already had a specific product line for it. I wanted to upgrade because the 6 was just really beat up from years of heavy use. Yes you're right, I went with the 7 pro SS, my disappointment with the 8 was about the combination of 1) rather disappointing features 2) the steepest jump in price since ever for the Fenix line, that just doesn't make for an appealing option in my opinion
