Holy mackerel that is a huge pumpkin 🎃 Helen. Hopefully everything survives the cold Helen but you have some awesome harvests there for sure. Have a great weekend and keep warm 😱 did I say that in the middle of September 🥶, Ali 🇨🇦

Yea its been OK considering the weather here. Always grateful for what I get. These should last me through most of the year 👌. I'm actually wearing warm socks. I never wear warm socks.. I feel so cold tonight 😩.

When I was in that situation, I covered just the squash with towels. That way, if the plants lived, I would have more time to mature them on the vine.

I didn't have enough to do it all. To be honest, most are ready. Normally if only a few I would have.

Just a thought. I saw a post on a Facebook veg group. They picked their very dark green tomatoes & put them in a glass cake dome. They ripened, no problem 😊 I've cut loads of foliage off mine. I've topped them all & I've cut off any flowers to try & get the plants to focus on ripening the fruits that's already on them. I've never eaten squash. To be honest I wouldn't know what to do with them 😊

Thatd a good idea. We normally put them in a crate with a ripe banana or two. Cover with clingfilm. It works really well. Great for when you have a larger amount. Squashes are great. So many recipes. And the fact that they store so well is fantastic. All have different tastes and textures.

Cover them in fleece.

Far too much to cover.

I actually like cold but sunny days having said that through our veg don’t normally appreciate it. I will wrap my green ones in newspaper individually and just check them every few days (it’s what nana did). Could you not have fleeced all the squash? Even dropping a cloth over could help.

Would need far too much fleece or sheets to cover them all. It's over several areas. But it's fine. They are all far enough along to cure indoors. Some years you win and some year are meh. 😅. The toms. Well, to be fair, I've been cooking toms for the last month or two.... I can bare to lose a few of those. 🤣
