"The tragedy of the commons, in its purest form". What Thulin described is not a tragedy of the commons, but a tragedy of the open-access resource. None of the systems he mentions are managed as a commons. Commons are, in fact, protected against individual overexploitation, whereas open-access areas are not. Great talk, but Thulin should correct his language to reflect the contemporary understanding of commons management. Open access ≠ commons.
