I always liked Mike Horvath (Tom Sizemore). Upham was my least favourite because of what happened to Mellish. But Jackson was definitely my favourite too

It came out in 98 just in time for the amp up to 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq. Speilberg gets his commands from the US gov. Also, a squad going to save 1 man never would have happened.

Alot of arm chair authenticators pick the movie to death with, thats a 1903A4 with a scope this and that. I watch movies for entertainment not for picking out single holer hueys or buttons not zippers. In any war it starts out one thing ends up with a weapon that was conjured. As in anywhere Ive been praying was plentiful.

I thought he was a farmer, since Reiben called him bumpkin. And Jackson doesn't appear to be a good reader as shown when he mistakes another paratrooper's name for Ryan's. Rienne.

Jackson isnt a sniper. He's the squad designated marksman. The us army didnt have snipers in ww2.

Load of BS. Snipers never get in towers. Most important thing you learn in Sniper school is lines of escape, as the first rule. Especially the Germans who were masters at it.

Marksmen go into towers... Snipers are 3 ft back from a window in a darkened room, in a non-descript building with good sight lines, that has multiple ways out.

Nonsense. He would have focused on the tank with all those rounds rather than going GTA tower. Had to end the character I guess. He could have sent one right down the tank tube with ease. Best character in a clown movie.
