Before putting two pieces of a fishing pole together Grandpa used to rub the side of his nose with his finger and put nose oil on one of the pieces before inserting into the other piece. Makes it easier to come apart when it's time to put it away. I've even used nose oil on a squeaky oar l o c k it works!

That same oil will help your line float if fishing on the surface 👍

A length of PVC, one cap glued on, another cap and you can soak ALL wooden tool handles in linseed oil efficiently. Plus you can store the oil convenient for future use

Also, don’t forget that Lin seed oil if left in a tightly crunched up rag will catch fire by itself after a few hours. Store used wind seed rags in a bucket of water to avoid this. Ignore this information at your own peril.

Also for shiny faucets, spray a tiny amount of WD40 and rub faucets with it, shines like new!!

The coin in the toilet is a waste of money. A rock or similar object would cost less and take up more space. I’ve seen people use a brick if they had the space in the toilet. Also you can adjust or bend down the float!

Yeah 👍 I've heard about the brick ,,,, but a coin 😂😂😂

I'm thinking that coin in the tank deal was confused with using coins for weight in the old Universal Bundle type flush valve to limit flush time therefore saving water. They used a bucket apparatus that tipped over to allow the flush instead of the "flapper" type common today.

If you're out of envelope glue you need to return the box of envelopes to the store you got them from.

Grandma probably would have strangled Grandpa if he used Cream of Tartar to polish stainless steel. That stuff is expensive, far costlier than stainless steel polish!

What kind of linseed oil, there is raw and boiled, one kind we put on wood ladders, other for keeping oil based paint brushes in
@CassandraWoodruff
@CassandraWoodruff 18 күн бұрын
Sounds more like the ladder application, all wooden handled tools benefit from soaking in it (unboiled I think) the cheaper one

A coin? Thats a bit of a waste of money! Cut the top of a soda bottle off and insert the bottom half into the toilet cistern. That will fill with water that wont away. This does the same job as your coin trick!

Wouldn’t you just use rice to keep your seeds fresh instead of silica packets, which are poisonous? If it works for rust and moisture, it will work for seeds and moisture just use rice for Christ sake.😂

Did your Grandpa use "hack" to describe a useful tip? NO! Was your Grandpa a hack? Why are you trying to change the meaning of this word like so many others are? For likes? Look it up in the dictionary (book edition) Means to phukk it up. Don't be a hack.
