They literally do have some of these mechanics in SoD. There are multiple new dodge and stack mechanics in SoD. Both Rag and Golemagg drop meteors that need to be dodged as does the molten core. Major domo has a new stack mechanic. This is not even accounting for the multiple new mechanics in BWL. Now I'm not saying they are completely the same and SoD does generally have less mechanics per boss but it is factually untrue to say there is not new mechanics just a matter of if you like those mechanics or not. Some of them are pretty ass and some are decently fun. If anything i think the real issue a lot of people have with SoD is not the mechanics its that its the same raids just slightly recontextualized. They are not massively reworked into a completely different experience like the BRD raid in retail is and so far there has not been much actual new stuff in SoD. SoD needs an entirely new raid experience to shake things up so people can actually have a different perspective that isn't biased by the past.

@@melville836 if you have 2 unexperienced players and you give one the ret and the other guy any other class, the ret will ALWAYS do more dmg and will be prob able to kill the other person in a duell. Ret is REALLY easy to pick up. We got 2 completly new players to wow, they tried several classes and they got a bit upset because we did so much more dps compared to them, than i told one of them to try ret. He instantly did like 700 overall dps in raid with like 10 gs lesser compared to his other classes. We went in a low mythic+ and he was crazy laughing when he pulled 2,3 million dps on a pack without knowing what hes doing. The most players ARE casuals and Ret was always easy as fuck to do high dmg with or win duells and it was liek this since Wotlk.

Classic has base level requirements, if you don't do X for Y times, then you won't get Z, which is a barrier to entry. Retail has no barriers at all and most of the time the meta is to not play at all until the last month of a patch so you can experience the power gains and catch loot for the creamy steamies. Classic is ez, retail is made for functional retards.

There are a lot of good players on Classic, as well as bad players on Retail, stop yapping. A good player adapts to the game very quickly. A bad player never adapts and there are plenty of retail players who wouldn't be good even on classic.

Nice to see you progressing on a dungeon from literally 20 years ago. I cleared BRD back in its original (read: hard mode) from back in vanilla wow. The mechanics were hard including dodging the flames and interrupting. You guys couldn’t handle classic raiding lol.

Unironically they should add this raid to SoD. The mechanics are fairly simple and could be done by Classic players. The raid definitely feels closer to Classic than Retail in mechanical complexity.
