I was hoping you'd buy a Mazda and had a feeling the color would be white. I have a Mazda 3 sport hatchback 2.3L and absolutely love it. It's a great car. Had Toyotas and VW before which are also good cars, but I really love my Mazda hatchback. Congratulations! Alyssa is a lucky girl.

Great little car...lots of bang for your buck where features are concerned and reliable. Great choice! I actually owned a 2012 Mazda3 loved it drove it 80k miles never had anything break on it. Great mpgs and a safe car. I would recommend it. I’m sad I actually was in a head on collision in this car totaled the car and came out safe no scratches! Miss my mazda3

When I was younger my mom had a 2008 Mazda 5 and the person in the oncoming lane fell asleep and drifted into our lane. We swerved to the right to not hit them but there was a guardrail and the wheel got caught in the rail and sheared it right off we went across the highway into a median and then bounced off it into the ditch where the car then rolled on it's side. We all were able to walk out without a scratch. Mazda makes some robust vehicles!!

Jeeps are nice cars but imo they’re more for show. Jeeps are also kind of lightweight, make noise once past a certain speed and prone to flipping & rust. I wouldn’t pay over 50k for a Jeep tbh

She works over the summer but her focus should be education and being a kid, not worrying about how she’s going to afford to pay for a car. I’m sorry you gotta work 10hr shifts but maybe if you set your sights on something more affordable like a Mazda you’d have more time to enjoy your summer ✌🏼 😎

Yeah I'm with Savi. I'm 17, working my ass off to get my first car. As much as a Merc CLA would be nice, you have to look at long term expenses/upkeep. It may be a German made car with decent reliability, but if something does go wrong, it's going to be a pricey fix. Insurance on a Merc is probably not cheap either. Not to mention you're paying extra when you buy it just to have the fancy name plate. If I were you, I would find something cheaper. I love cars, and I have learned that fast does not always equal fun. You would arguably have much more fun and a much more engaging driving experience in something small with a peppy enough engine and manual transmission, for example such as a Mazda 3, Volkswagen Jetta, or even a Honda Civic. (Don't hi nock it til you try it, they are so much fun!) You can still get models with enough power to be quicker than a lot of cars if you find a mazdaspeed model, a vw With a 1.8t or VR6, or a Honda with the SI trim that has the VTEC engine fitted. You can modify pieces of these cars to make them stick out from a crowd, which is obviously something you find attractive if considering a Mercedes. Also, especially with the Jettas, Mazdas, or if you find a 4 door civic, insurance will be much much cheaper than a Mercedes, and parts, especially for the Japanese cars, are cheap and tough as nails. Just a thought, from someone in your same position.

Mercedes is literally the worst first car. So high maintenance and CLA is the most unreliable model. My friend’s mom had a GL, air suspension broke, paid $8K to get it fixed, and a year later, suspension went all whack again. Not to mention the horrendous resale value. That GL they purchased for $75K in 2012. In 2018, it was worth a measly $18K. If you really wanted luxury, should’ve gone with Lexus.

I proudly bought a used 2017 Mercedes GLA 45 AMG ! I had been saving up since they first came out in 15 and I was 15.I saved and save and now I am 19 and bought it! I got it from car max for 27k.It did help a little to trade in my 17 Passat that I have had for a few years now!So happy with my GLA! I have loved Mercedes ever since my mom a few years ago bought a 14 G wagon which she just traded on for a new 19 G wagon!
