I want to address the comments from the previous video where a lot of people felt that Sonny was a jerk.

I don’t see any problem with Sonny.. he’s a bit OCD and wants excellent content that’s why he’s strict.. and just wants you prepared to talk about certain food culture etc so the video runs smooth.. people shouldn’t be quick to judge especially with just snippets of video here and there.

I came from BEFRS and i can say you have pretty good content !! Keep going and someday YOU will be the superstar with people waiting on you ! I got to see a side of Sonny i haven't seen before. Sonny is NOT A JERK ! Your behind the scenes interactions with him really show that he cares about the production and the people around him. He's like the "mean" big brother that is always picking on you; it's to challenge and inspire you and learn important lessons. He's driving home important points on how to be successful at what you BOTH do for a living and the message is not always going to be light and fun. You guys did great together ! Cheers.

One common, CRITICAL characteristic of successful food vloggers is DESCRIBING THE FOOD !! You have to convince the viewers that they are there, eating the food with you !! Use descriptive sentences that tell us about the smell, the texture, the flavor; that spider leg was hairy, the bristles stick to your tongue and when you crunch into it, the rich flavor bursts into the mouth, it starts off bitter but then becomes earthy with a slight sense of wild flowers, etc, etc. Immerse your viewer in the experience of tasting and THAT is what will get us hooked !! And that story about boiled chicken skin is great as well !! Personal experiences are very relatable,!

I guess that's why they say don't meet your "heroes." I was so happy to hear that you were working with him in a video. After seeing your videos with him, I have mixed feelings but hopefully in the long run this will help you out. He still seems like he couldn't even be bothered to talk to you it seems. I admit, he's definitely not the same person we see on KZbin but who is really? Off-camera, Sonny is all business, even in the evenings he didn't hang out afterwards. But we did a few good conversations not just about youtube but real life as well. I even asked him if I could interview him for my channel and he obliged.

It's only my initial reaction of how he was from the videos. Either way, you're probably getting way more comments because of the last video, so it's going to up your algorithm lol. I got the sense that you kept vlogging and doing your own thing, when you should've tried to put your camera down and be involved as much as you can as a serious co-host to Sonny and being a knowledgeable guide in his show. Sonny means well. It's all stuff you need to follow in order to be a sucessful vlogger. Things like a plan, knowledge, structure, shots, persona, even a tagline. Not just random clips with no real direction. All those are manadatory on the path to growing your channel. Consistency is key.

I know this video is supposed to support Sonny but he still comes off dismissive and pompous. However constructive criticism on your part. Plan and schedule with collaborators. Plan shoots and brainstorm ideas beforehand. Felt like Sonny was trying to relax and/or enjoy a meal during down time and recording nonstop did not offer him a break. Majority of the video felt like you were just tagging along and/or hovering waiting for things to do and hounding him for his food and leftovers. I'd say just shoot your own part and vlog. Maybe get the same thing he's trying vs eating his. If they offer they offer if they don't, take the higher route. Also maybe don't say "are you the guy on youtube who eat's weird sh*t?" jokes aside this is his living and livelihood also someone that you are collaborating off of while gaining new followers through this exposure. Comes off kind of rude and insulting. HOWEVER that is just my opinion as a viewer of this video. End of the day I hope both of you continue to thrive and succeed. -edit- I just rewatched your video and you literally said you were going to follow him around and eat his leftovers. -another edit- Sorry ANOTHER thing that I just realized; you have released a lot of footage of your encounter with Sonny before Sonny has released his. Have you two collaborated on when you should be posting videos from this collaboration of out courtesy? Secondly understood that you were at the same area as Sonny when a lot of these scenes were filmed, however you have some scenes where you directly lifted Sonny's video and content from his episode. This is his content - did you receive permission from Sonny and his team to use this footage? AGAIN, not trying to insult or insinuate anything, just relaying things from my perspective as an outside viewer and common courtesy. While some things may seem ok it may not be for others.

He is not a jerk, he got sense of humour, but behind all the very good scenes there are hard works put into it. For me he has a lot of dedication on what he is doing and he knows what the viewer wants. Majority of Cambodian people are soft and never want to say something to hurt anyone, but that’s not the way Sonny grow up.

It is what it is. "How the sausage is made" is almost never a pretty thing. People get testy or impatient, but it's because they care about what they're putting out. Sonny isn't doing this for fun, this is his job and how he provides jobs for his crew. He needs it to be good or he's just throwing money away. Should he be nicer? Probably. But everyone works differently, and he's got a very successful channel, so his style works for him. Would it work for me? Nope. But I don't have ANY KZbin channel so WTF do I know? You were great in his videos. You made them better. I subscribed to your channel, so you got at least one. 🤣

I've worked with many people through my years in different capacities and I know from personal experience, when you're dealing with a younger crew (like he has) you have to run a very tight ship or they're gonna show up late, call off, half-ass the task, etc etc. And thank you for the huge compliment, glad you came to check me out!

I have been watching Bald for years and for a while now he has been teaming up with Backpacker Ben and while their chemistry is good, they often times act cold towards each other (just IMO) and I think its because they are both filming content and dont want the content to be about the other person that they are with, they want to create it so that they are the ones in the spotlight. And they both realize that, so when one is filming, they get out of each others hair. When they want the other person involved, they find a way to include them in the clip, but its always an invitation type of thing, neither really presume to strut into the others shots making a scene. I have never though of Sonny as rude, but I especially enjoy the videos with you in them because you have a different energy, not saying that Sonny is boring, but you kinda light up a room. I can see why he wouldnt want to "step on" your content, you gotta do you too! If you dont see it as rude, it doesnt matter, it was your experience. Keep that awesome attitude that you have and keep making great videos! I found you because of Sonny, I hope you do more with him in the future, but now I have your stuff to see as well!

First of all, your comment really made my day. I felt insecure about myself, so for you to tell me this I just really appreciate it. But interesting observation about Bald and Ben. Shooting with Sonny was less of a collab and more like I was playing the role of a co-host. The only collab I’ve really done was with Cambo Vlogs and I felt like we meshed well together. I’d love to do more but most KZbinrs are very ego-centric. They don’t want to be bothered unless the collab benefits them. I’ve reached out to so many other KZbinrs but never received a response so to have the opportunity to film with Sonny was kind of a big deal for me.
