This is a great video. From a dude who has been watching for years. It's cool to know that the team is real and working hard and are awesome. What may seem private, dude it's awesome, it only shows how realistic everyone is and what it takes to produce these videos. Makes me appreciate Sonny's videos even more seeing that it shows him being a normal dude at heart and worries about real life things like clean sea food. Great job on this video.

Im glad we get to have this behind the scenes so we can get a feel for some of the vibe off camera. And some of the interactions that took place. Also, im glad we get to see some more of Savi. I didnt know of your channel before. But now Im sure ima be a consistent viewer. Keep up the good work man! Definitely gotta watch the other cambodia videos on the best ever food show when im done with this. Also, I discoverd the best ever food review channel when it was around the size of yours, if not smaller. And I knew that channel was gonna blow up given the quality of the content, and the content itself. Ive seen this many of times before, and I know its the case with you no doubt. And not to mention just about anyone can make it given enough effort and blessings, lol. But Ik you'll be as big as sunny if you just keep at it. I love the content ive seen so far man and I hope to see alot more!

WOW !!!!! That's brutal, SONNY: "I would rather throw it away and have them see me throw it away.....". That's absolute moral bankruptcy and I'm shocked and saddened that he would say that !! For the difference of $40-$50 he would a) WASTE the life of those living creatures b) deny some people who will never know the wealth and abundance that Sonny experiences daily over $50. That's very sad. 😢
@needmoreramsay4 ай бұрын
30 kg (66lb) of crab. It's a brilliant bargaining strategy but the fact that Sonny was serious about throwing them away is still incredibly sad !! I've been a fan and follower of his since day 1 and he would never have had this attitude in his early days.

If a pregnant crab's meat and eggs are inedible anyways, then it should be a no brainer to toss them back to repopulate. That's just selfish of the lady selling it to ignore it. And you don't scam the guy trying to promote Khmer food. Come on lady lol SMH The national animal of Cambodia is the Kouprey and it's extinct. I hope that doesn't happen to the crabs. That would be a negative impact on Khmer seafood.
@saviyou4 ай бұрын
I agree totally. She told me they like to eat these with eggs on the outside and proceeded to sell us a several kilos worth. I don't know if she was trying to scam us or just didn't know it herself. Either way, there should be more involvement with the local wildlife officers (one was onsite but didn't say or do anything other than take pics).

@SokhenIn4 ай бұрын
The fixer definitely plays a crucial role in making these videos happen! They handle logistics and ensure everything runs smoothly. Co-hosting requires additional skills like on-camera presence and the ability to engage the audience with insightful commentary. Perhaps in the future, with some experience, the fixer could take on a more prominent role, but only if that's something they're interested in. After all, being a skilled fixer is a valuable contribution in itself!

As a local I can say that they are more than capable to buy back but they rather scam you just because you are foreigner. Even most Cambodian actually do this trick of walking off and stuff just to get the real price too
@saviyou4 ай бұрын
First of all, crabs can survive for quite a while outside of water...1-2 days. They were only out of the water for maybe 15mins? The crabs were fine. Sonny bought them at wholesale price and gave them a 50% discount and they tried to go even lower. I can assure you, they can afford to buy them even at the original price. They took those crabs and sold them at the market for $15/kilo...that's a $300 profit. Most khmer ppl struggle to make that in a month.
@SothyRSem4 ай бұрын
Typical cambodian sellers in 2024... This is what pisses me off. I'm a Cambodian too and it break my heart to see such way of doings. You got ripped off from the start and then they try to lowball you. I understand they are having a harsh life and all but they're mostly dishonest. This is one of the factors making surrounding destinations and countries more attractive and interesting.
@SokhenIn4 ай бұрын
I understand your frustration. It's definitely not ideal to feel like you're being taken advantage of. Bargaining is a common practice in Cambodian markets, and it applies to both tourists and locals. It's part of the cultural experience. However, Cambodia has so much to offer visitors! From stunning temples to delicious and affordable street food, there's something for everyone. Education is key! Initiatives promoting fair pricing and transparency can benefit both tourists and local businesses. Perhaps we can encourage tourists to do some research beforehand to have a better understanding of typical prices for goods and services. While bargaining might be common, it's important not to paint all Cambodian sellers with the same brush. There are many honest and fair vendors out there. If you encounter a situation where you feel uncomfortable, politely walk away and try another vendor.

No Sonny- no offense, BUT, the few times you’ve visited Srok Khmer, I feel as if you or your producers only source “intricate/ odd” dishes. If you had the classical entrees you find in Khmer homes all around the world…. You would have been able to form a better response or opinion to Khmer cuisine. You’re, Nom Ban Chok, Sach Ko Ang, Touk Prahok w Steak, like come on, the food you find of Khmer houses either if it being in America, France or Australia.. instead you or your crew sources shit like Rats…. Which mostly the countryside eats( no disrespect but as far as traditional dishes go) you have so much to choose from! Cha Krueng, Mi Katang, YAO HAN! I mean no offense and no specific blame. But looks for odd things like bugs rats and frogs don’t do our country justice. from a viewer and subscriber perspective- you’re click baiting and looking for views and wow factors. You can find Khmer people all around the globe. My family alone is scattered in america, Europe, Australia, France, and of course Asia. In my option. You’re not genuinely giving us a chance- and if that’s the case. Admit it… like how haven’t you tried these other dishes if you’ve been there X amount of times? These dishes can be found through street vendors etc. and they aren’t hard to find! I road a bus from Kracheh to Phnom Penh multiple times and I always find an auntie throwin down on some somlar machu krueng jamoy daquon- don’t tell me it can’t be done. Subscribers love you and I’m sure there are a ton of us Khmer ones- do us justice please. Thank you Savi for shedding light on some behind the scenes action. I am happy for you and congratulate you on this incredible opportunity with Sonny. I wish you nothing but success and joy during your journey. I pray you continue growth in the KZbin travel space!
