I might say moreso Kim Simmonds, way to many personal changes for a band ,but Kim,obviously the driving force. RIP Kim,Lonesome Dave,Rod Price,Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, Alvin Lee , I could go on and on. I was fortunate to have met Kim a couple times, one of the finest guitarists nobody ever mentions 😢

@@georgebirch5635You've got 4 of my favorite guitar players on your short list there!!!! We saw Savoy Brown many times over the years, until 2020, when Kim couldn't perform any longer---

Jumpin' Joe Whiting from central NY on sax. DANG! What a combo. And Joe is a great lead singer to boot.

I thank those who captured this performance on sound/film. I wish I had recorded them in Raleigh, NC, maybe 75 people there but one of the best concerts ever.

I saw Savoy Brown in the late seventies in a little bar in Sudbury Ontario Canada. I had the Street Corner Talkin album and they played almost every song from it. What a night.

There was a guy named Jack Liner that worked for london records and leased my fathers bar in Milwaukee. It was more of a club with a stage and live music. Savoy Brown did a gig in milwaukee somewhere there in the late sixties. Jack was there link from the record label and brought them back to the bar. I was a kid maybe 15 lived next door and brought up ice at midnite for the bartenders. There they were jamming on stage 20 feet from the back bar. It was majical.!!

Glad to come across this performance.'Street Corner Talking ' is the title song of the album that's considered by many to be Savoy Brown's masterpiece. It includes perhaps their signature song, ' Tell Mama ', which was a mainstay at all their early shows. But this number didn't get played live very often. But what a hippie anthem, with it's plodding beat! It had all the freaks bobbing their heads back and forth and side to side when it was played live!! The great Kim Simmonds always delivered great lead and slide guitar in the studio and on stage.

I just love Savoy and Kim Simmonds...I have all their vinyl and they're just fantastic. I just wish Kim could reach some agreement with say Chris Youlden, Jackie Lynton, or Dave Walker while they are still alive. Kim just always sounds like he is struggling when he tries to sing.
