Nice cover with a twist using saxophone together with the guitars. BTW I am from the Philippines. Way back in HS here in Manila I used to take a ride going to school riding a public jeepney while this song is being played on an 8-track cassette stereo inside while the driver is speeding at a fast pace on the road. Hell those were the old days here in Manila..

Amongst these tunes is our take on Clapton’s Motherless Children which is also in open I also used open A . We don’t have guitar techs prepping our guitars so we plan accordingly so we don’t have to cart in more than three guitars or so.

Excellent, what a surprise, this is one of the songs on my list of the "super band" I'm trying to assemble in Ct, this band is what I envision with hopefully at least one female that can play any instrument and sing, it would be based on Little Feat with songs from others like this, and my thinking is with the right female like a Bonnie Raitt sound (who sang a lot with Feat) it would gel and add some Raitt songs and Christine McVie, etc. People seem petrified of trying Little Feat "oh it's too hard" music is supposed to be challenging, right now Ct has about 734 dead cover bands, and no one does Feat.
@MarkBaker5628 күн бұрын
Sounds like quite the undertaking. Start with the rhythm section as LF was all about the grooves. Honky tonk piano stylings would go a long way toward acheiving their sound also. While you are at it some of the Bands material would fit nicely with that. Good luck and keep us posted.

This is the version I always come back to. Nobody rocks like Boomers! Slide guitar tuned to A. Am I right?
@MarkBaker565 ай бұрын
Yes Sir. At this point the action was high on this Strat so I tuned it to open A for this song and Motherless Children
@MarkBaker565 ай бұрын
I have shimmed the neck and the action is greatly improved so now it will be in standard tuning and one of my other guitars will be dedicated to open tuning. If interested in open tuning our version of “Waiting for the Sun” I used open D tuning on an Eastwood Delta 6
@0isez4 ай бұрын
@@MarkBaker56 Thanks for the reply. I am a half assed guitar player for about 50 years. Try as I may I still cannot sound any good on a slide. I am beginning to believe you must have a proclivity for it. My brother plays a beautiful slide guitar in standard tuning. When I try ,I sound like a refrigerator falling down a basement stairwell. Glad you're doing it though, otherwise I would have to and bring an end to classic rock.
@MarkBaker564 ай бұрын
You like most musicians are likely your own worst critic. It is a rare occasion that I am completely satisfied with my performances and that pertains to slide most of all. Slide presents so many nuances and variables that can be hard to master. The biggest being hearing yourself in reference to the other pitch producing instruments in a live setting. Keep plugging & chugging , hold on to what works, forget what doesn’t and strive to learn new techniques. A pedal steel freind once told me “it takes 10 years just to get bad at pedal steel.” I think the same apllies to a degree to slide .
@0isez4 ай бұрын
@@MarkBaker56 Thanks Mark, I needed to hear that. I thought that it would be a snap, especially in standard tuning. I will keep plugging. Thanks again...Ken

If you're not sure you should not comment. Just listened again to the original version and that's what he plays. It's mixed a bit lower so its a bit harder to notice, but that's what he does. If you need anymore affirmation of this listen to their live version and you'll see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6a7mXqamN-VmdE

@NeighborhoodPicnic-xj4qb3 ай бұрын
Don't usually reply to comments like this, but you are completely wrong! We are playing this at 134bpm. The record is also 134-135 bpm. I just watched a live version by Savoy Brown from 81. They were flying at 164bpm. Now THAT is too fast!
