Is the chart supposed to move as I travel ?? Mine does not so eventually the red boat arrow disappears from the screen ?? Am I doing something wrong ?? cheers HAYDEN
@SavvySalt2 жыл бұрын
I have noticed it is a bit tricky. The button in the bottom left that looks like the arrow starts the app tracking your position. If you touch nothing else the app will track you as you travel. But if you touch anything else the app stops that tracking your travel. Even clicking the screen to keep it from going to sleep often stops the tracking for me. Zooming, swiping, menus or anything else also seems to stop the tracking. I find it tough to keep the app scrolling with me as well; it's not the best user experience.
@siamsummer94262 жыл бұрын
Yes greta so its not only me :-))) Correct - Also if I change the map settings - NORTH UP - COURSE UP etc .... as soon as I touch the screen that also goes back to default. I will try the red arrow next trip to see if the map follows me - CHEERS

How do I align the place names according to my cruising direction? Is there a way to align the place names with the direction I'm cruising? (Using iPhone app). Thanks.

Hi. We are underway headed to Alaska using Navionics Boating app. Our home port is Anacortes. We are now in Canadian waters. Since we are here in Canadian waters, when I hit the boat icon to show where I am starting out from, it always shows Anacortes and not our present location. I am using an iPad with WIFI. I am connecting to GPS with my iPad with a Garmin Glo. BTW, the Navionics app is working fine on my iphone. Any thoughts?

When you click on the "?" next to the cursor the menu it brings up includes a "marker" - It's basically a location on the chart and you can give it a name and an icon. That's the closest I could find to a "favorites"

First thank you for this great introduction. Quick question, for distance measurements when zoomin beyond 0.1Nm, it turns into feet measures. Anyway to make it in metrics ?
@SavvySalt2 жыл бұрын
You can navigate to "Menu > Settings > Units" and set your distance measurement to km. Then smaller distances are shown in meters. But I can't find a way to show longer distances in nautical miles and shorter distances in meters. If you find a way let me know!
@Madeveira-Spritz2 жыл бұрын
@@SavvySalt thanks a lot for the trick. At least being in Km give the small distance in meter and then go back in Nm for longer distance. And I check as proposed and there is nonwayto be in Nm and short distance being metric. It always go to feet. Still thanks a lot it was a good trick. Maybe navionics should add the option of feetbor metric when being in small distance keeping the Nm
