I hate his lack of consistency more than anything. The man's whole reason for killing was the death of his sister at the hands of her husband/boyfriend, but then Hoffman gets super misogynistic in the 7th film with how he punishes the false Jigsaw survivor by putting the man's wife on the line when she was the only person in his life who didn't know he was a liar.

Laila Guiy He doesn’t kill anyone. He puts them into a test that involves decisions, but people always choose the wrong decision witch includes death. Jigsaw gives to his victims a second chance, but they always waist those second chances by choosing the wrong decision. Take for example S.A.M.F Jeff. Instead of forgiving the guy who accidentally killed his son, he just watch that man’s libs getting twisted causing his death.

@NobleBoss

Strahm was originally meant to be in Saw VI but they didn't know how to work him in there (probably because they wanted to keep milking the franchise since there was supposed to be Saw VI, then a 2 part movies which got canceled and instead got Saw 3D) Saw Vi should have been the ending for that arc instead of 3D. And have Strahm and Gordon lock Hoffman in the bathroom. But have the movie open up with the scene of Hoffman escaping the beartrap. They wasted so many characters like Kerry, Rigg, Tapp, Strahm and Perez.

As shocking and gruesome as the coffin trap kill is, it's always irked me how this movie sets up Strahm to be a capable badass protagonist in like the first 5 minutes of this film just to later ignore his saw instructions and get pancaked. However I suppose you could argue that he mightve thought Hoffman would trick him and make an inescapable trap like he did for Seth. But still, sucks to see him get built up the whole movie, and the squished. Then again, this series has a reputation for the main characters not surviving their game despite playing it well.

Yea , one of the first things I noticed was if they were better at working together all could've lived . Each trap would've been able to survive with all five if they took a closer look at the keys before charging forward they would've realised they're the same key . One person would be alone in trap 2 , the other 4 sharing two tunnels . Trap 3 seems impossible , but there was five points of electricity. One per person , not enough to kill . And the last one they would've had to all only lose 2 litres , and be able to live.

When you announced that you were doing the Saw franchise, I wasn't really that interested (I was kind of hoping for Halloween) but then when I started watching your kill counts on them I really started to like it. Now Saw is one of my favourite horror series! Thank you so much James for getting me into this great horror series :)

Those people in the traps were so frustrating. Like if you ask me, I was think it was super obvious that they had to work together. Especially the one where they had to get into the holes to avoid the explosion, it was so clear that more than one of them could fit into a hole.

Strahm pointedly asks how he got out of there. Hoffman responds like a fourth grader.

All of the Saw movies after the 2nd one become pretty rough, but I've always had a soft spot for this one. I think it's just because of the realization at the end that all of the 5 could've survived, but they didn't because of the exact reason that put them in the situation. Other than Gordon in the first film, the 2 that do survive, I believe are the only characters to successfully complete the gauntlet legitimately. Also there's a lot of clever bits to the traps in this one including Strahm administering the self tracheostomy, which is just badass.
