I made the same mistake when I first saw this movie. Assuming Dana and Marty were siblings. Idk if it’s on us for assuming too much, or it’s on the movie for not clearly explaining their relationship. I haven’t seen it in awhile but I recall the scene when Marty is introduced kind of giving the impression that they are siblings. That’s the tone it sets……. Also got the 69th like on this comment, nice! Lol

See I never got that vibe. He just seemed like a goofy stoner friend. Granted movies have kinda broke me into never assuming relationships between characters unless completely, explicitly stating it. They have a similar appearance, hair color, etc. So that might be why people assumed that.

The elevator scene is genuinely my favorite moment from all of the movie media I've ever watched. The true, unbridled chaos of dozens of different, entirely unrelated creatures bursting out from the doors to just massacre everything around them was a real sight to behold. I remember thinking back when I saw it for the first time that this is the closest thing to an SCP movie that we've ever gotten, and as an early teen that was obsessed with SCP at the time, I was fuckin' ecstatic.

This is hands-down my favorite horror movie of all time. It’s not that it’s scary, it’s just that it’s witty, funny, sardonic, and a commentary. Plus, the effects are so funny. Despite how laborious the pricess was with practical effects and planning all the scenes, I'm so glad they did all that. I say it was definitely worth it!

I always thought that The Cabin in the Woods was underrated since it pokes at troupes while at the same time breaks them down like how you said Chris' character is smart despite being the "jock/athlete" and the "nerdy/scholar" guy also being athletic. Also, the "Joker/fool" being smart and surviving with the "virgin/ final girl."

I believe that Robot Chicken made a skit based on the idea of the 'ancient ones' being a metaphor for the audience. Just like the movie, they fail in the end and (in the case of the skit) end up getting their show cancelled. I can't find the skit on KZbin but it's pretty good.

Even more confusingly, looking glass is a synonym for both mirror and window, depending on whether you mean a glass you can look *through* , or a glass you can look *at* (to see your reflection.) ... yeah, fuckin' stupid as hell.

@scott--1629

@Orange Crush I am not numb, I'm just annoyed that ur trying to put avengers in the same category as horror films like anything covered on the kill count. Avengers is not a horror end of story. It just isn't idc about how you see it, ur seeing it wrong. You cannot put avengers in the same circle as things like scream, Halloween, texas chainsaw, Friday, nightmare, saw and countless more that I could list. Avengers is straight up not a horror film just because it contains aspects of things that possibly are "horrific" doesn't mean it's a horror movie. Case dismissed.

I like how the protagonists literally chose to let the apocalypse and the end of humanity happen to keep their friends alive to die anyway. Like seriously just kill one person to save billions of people should seem like a no brained, especially if said person wasn’t a great person

I think the point was that if this (the torture and suffering of relatively innocent young people) was what it took to keep the world alive, maybe the world needed to die. That’s what I got from what Marty said anyways.

One of the best things was finding the novelization of the movie in the airport before watching the movie. I absolutely loved hearing the inside of the characters, minds, and the details of the book and everything before watching the actual movie. I usually always find the book better than the movies, because obviously books can go into a lot more detail than movies can, and this book was no exception. But I really do love the world that was created with in this movie and if you enjoyed the movie, I highly recommend checking out the novelization!

I mean, as a kid, japanese children are told about the Rokurokubi(people that are cursed for bad deeds so they have a neck that extends like a snake and they have to drink kerosene), or Hachishakusama(an eight foot tall woman that makes a weird sound and kidnaps children), or Kuchisake-onna(a spirit that had her mouth split open after she cheated on her husband when she was a human, so she goes up to people and ask "am I pretty" and proceeds to kill those people no matter their answer). I mean, they probably know all spells that defeat demons.
