Idk if it’s on us for assuming too much, or it’s on the movie for not clearly explaining their relationship. Well he was only the smartest because he did the drugs so the dumb gas didn't affect him. We don't know how the other characters would've reacted if the dumb Gass didn't affect him either. Also he decided to destroy the whole planet and himself as well instead of sacrificing himself.

@@abhinavchoudhury7000 The guy is a stoner who is convinced the government is out to get him. The whole reason he agreed to the trip was so that he could get "off the grid" for a while. It's not hard to see why he doesn't care about the billions of people he doesn't know, it's honestly more realistic that he doesn't sacrifice himself. Too much media portray their characters as selfless heroes who will do the right thing in the face of situations like this, but the most human thing to do in this situation is denial. No one wants to believe that they have to die, so when the choice to save the world is to die it only makes sense that the one who's life is on the line doesn't believe the director and refuses to play along, but Dana does consider the idea for a moment until basically being put on her deathbed from a werewolf. TL;DR Marty is a really realistic and fleshed out character, and it makes sense he doesn't sacrifice himself because when put on the spot in a situation like this, after the absolutely insane day he had, almost no person would.

I believe that Robot Chicken made a skit based on the idea of the 'ancient ones' being a metaphor for the audience. The skit had the ancient one be a viewer of Robot Chicken and that the selected monster was a Zombie Joss Whedon. Just like the movie, they fail in the end and (in the case of the skit) end up getting their show cancelled. I can't find the skit on KZbin but it's pretty good.

My theory has always been that Marty is actually the virgin and Dana is the fool. Marty is continuously painted as kinda the outcast/weird kid, but also happens to figure out the situation first, and Dana is the heartbroken girl who had an affair with a professor. Even if she didn't sleep with said professor, her behavior towards a relationship that won't happen gives weight to her being the fool and also suggests that she isn't exactly innocent sexually. This theory lends a little credit to the fact that they never disclose either of the twos sexual past in any conclusive detail.

I sometimes think about it. I wonder if it was a legitimate plot point that the producers didn't reveal. Interesting to think if Marty had killed Dana in the end at Sigourney weavers request, saying the Virgin needs to die to complete the ritual, and then nothing happened, OR, Marty kills himself in a unique twist where they all had Dana pinned as the virgin, and it ends up being Marty who sacrifices himself for mankind. Even his name closely resembles "martyr". I'm happy with the ending as it is. Maybe it was chosen as a sign of solidarity among Dana and Marty, to not turn on one another. Maybe it was deliberately left open ended as to which was the virgin so theories like this can exist and fans can discuss. Or maybe it was never even thought about and we're all just wasting our breath lol who knows.

Inertian I actually really like the decision to show the bird first, even if others don’t. During the entire speech and hopeful score you KNOW what’s gonna happen, so it’s this incredibly uncomfortable feeling that you know they’re gonna fail and all this heroic sentiment is gonna be wasted that really sells it for me. If we weren’t warned before it would’ve been a funny “gotcha” moment that makes sense, but knowing they’re gonna fail creates a really interesting atmosphere of awkwardness and “bruh” moment that I really like

I feel like this could be turned into the ultimate asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, with a nearly endless roster of characters to choose from. On the Sacrifices side of things, each archetype could have specific objectives for either better results/rewards or being a win condition, like The Virgin needing to be the last one alive/dead, The Scholar repairing a certain amount of things, The Athlete dealing a certain amount of combat damage to the monsters, etc. On the Monsters side, you could choose several different monsters to have their objects spawn in the cabin's basement for the Sacrifices to find, and whatever they choose is what you play as. There would obviously need to be some balance adjustments, but I feel like there's potential here.

@@LukasQueen A more chaotic Dead By Daylight, where the monster player has a different overarching goal and playstyle every single time they play. Zombie horde? Maybe even things like Shriekers from Tremors, where your vision is incredibly limited, and heat-based, meaning you can see players through thinner walls, and they have to use things like fire extinguishers and ice water to roam invisibly, or boiling water and tossing it on a mannequin as a decoy?

The last half of this film is so amazing and memorable. Usually with horror films the ending parts are iffy but this one nailed the final act and gave you a proper chaotic climax.

"...covering up a one-way mirror, which can also be called a two-way mirror. That's fuckin' stupid as hell." Best line in all of the Dead Meat Universe
@josephr76849 ай бұрын
It's called a one-way mirror, because only one way is it a mirror, and the other way is not a mirror. It's called a two-way mirror, because one way it is a mirror, but the second way it's a looking glass, so it's a mirror that has two ways you can look at it. Even more confusingly, looking glass is a synonym for both mirror and window, depending on whether you mean a glass you can look *through* , or a glass you can look *at* (to see your reflection.) ... yeah, fuckin' stupid as hell.

same say it made the guy who made this movie learn of the SCP group and got the idea for it. also note the keyword "end of the world" meaning anyone in space at the time would live on and just waited out for the old gods to do to whatever to the earth, and once done and over they come back down to earth and just redo the human race again and have to do it all over. i mean they build a huge factory under the earth and more so if anything someone in that group say "well its better to be safe then sorry"
