Hi guys, in British Columbia we call that log that you are cutting, cotton wood. Our Aspen had smooth white bark. Cotton wood has a sticky pod that sometimes sheds and will stick on your car, out hair ( or beard ). The ones that stay on the tree will germinate into a fluffy creation that looks like cotton, and the leaves are much larger than Aspen. Love your videos.

You sure do have some good supporters; sending you gifts and songs. It is always good to see you. I hope the kitties find a good home. That log pretty much maxed out your blade. It is to bad that it had some rot. I hope all is well with you. 🤠🤠🤠🤠

@ronmccabe71644 ай бұрын
A couple of reasons - 1) to true up the face (sometimes the cant bends and /or twists from internal stresses), sometimes bark gets underneath and tips the cant. 2) Sometimes to get the rest of the cant to a multiple of 2", 4", etc. thick.
