I'm a carpenter. Your setup beats a bandsaw every day of the week. It's not more wasteful, either, but it seems that way when you first see it. It does look like your blade is leaving chatter Mark's on the lumber.

Your approach to getting yields at its optimum is 2nd to none. Whomever you learned from must have held their own, on their own right. You and T.H.E Eddie make a mighty fine team. As I reiterate, your videos, I do find therapeutic amidst all the craziness goings-on in America and the rest of the world. Base on your business practices and the sale price of lumber from you guys end, GOD CAN ONLY KEEP BLESSING YOU BOTH, BECAUSE GOD LOVES THOSE THAT ARE HONEST ON WEIGHTS AND MEASURES. Basically you don't rip off your customers. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND YOUR FAMILIA.

Nothing smells gooder than fresh cut pine wood! I had the opportunity to fall a huge pine at my dad's place. The tree was casting too much shade into his garden space. The smell as the saw ran through that tree was FANTASTIC! The tree at the base of the stump was 32 inches. That may not be huge in some areas, but to us in Washington state it's rare to find a pine tree, let alone a pine tree that large! Pops had dreamed of having a portable sawmill come in & mill him some fabulous pine boards to work with. Sadly he never could find a sawyer that would do it, & wound up turning that tree into firewood to heat his shop with.

HI MARK U say the log is sticky pine trees are like that after they are cut down the sap runs down the tree mark U talk about the fellow w the saw blade when U run them hot that's no good 4 them they will get out of shape some times U can hammer straight again U usually have 2 send off 2 saw right saw blades like if they are really bad they won't run true the saw blade must be up 2 speed no flopping at the top of the saw blade that's where U see it the most when U look at close U can see 👀 it saw blades do not heat or being run hot 😉 OMG 1 17 2O23

We always called that gun barrel style. It is named after the old octagonal gun barrels. I would have sawed it about the same way, with just some minor differences. The last mill I sawed on had a vertical edger, which made it a bit more easier to clear the saw. The biggest log I sawed was a 12' tulip poplar which was 42" at the small end. You have a nice set up and I like your sawing style.

I really enjoy your videos...i don't know why but watching sawmill videos is so relaxing. I noticed on some other mills, the log turner has teeth on both sides. That way instead of turning a log 3 times to get to the side you want to cut, it can be turned only once in the other direction. Is this something you plan on doing someday? Keep the videos coming. Your channel and out of the woods are my favorite milling channels.

Happy 40K and GOOD sawing, Mark! Didn't even come close to killing Edwardo and helper. That was a NICE log and the olde buss motor was speaking again and that mill is on the money! I've got to get out the road. There is a HUGE pile of logs out there and if I can just remember how to get the pictures into here off the camera. Older and goofier hasn't been any of my better traits! Thanks again and GBWYall!

The people that go ballistic has probably never been to a lumber mill. Sometimes you got to make the wood fit the mill. Probably never widdled a stick with a pocket knife.
