Sawmill Gravy and Biscuits | Feeding the Tribe Breakfast!! - The Papa's Kitchen

It was the very last morning the Tribe of Many would be with us in Florida prior to getting on the road to head back to Lincoln Nebraska - and I had promised to send them off with a big breakfast that was filling and delicious. So - I enlisted the help of Mr. Eli. I think I wore him out, but through it all, he learned how to make a great southern biscuit and gravy breakfast. I used 3 Pounds of sausage and 3 tubes of store-bought biscuits (if I had made my own, I'd still be working on them) in order to feed them all - and then for most of them I put a couple of sunny-up eggs on top.
I will tell you, it was very, very good - and there wasn't one person of any age that didn't gobble it down! So, get yourself some sausage, add your spices of sage, onion powder, and garlic powder (that's it!), and cook you up some sausage gravy and biscuits!

Grandparents and Greatgrandparents ,doesn't happen very often ,will be more appreciated as the kids become older. Maybe a silicone mixing tool rather than metal on metal ? I so enjoyed watching Eli cooking with his Papa. I love the patients that you have with the children. To be honest I never had Sausage, and biscuits until I was on the road to Las Vegas many years ago. My family had stopped in a little diner , and it was one of the items on the breakfast menu . I have to say it was delicious, especially with a side of grits. We were used to eating cream of wheat which were similar to grits. After seeing this latest “The Papa’s Kitchen” I know now what’s for Saturday morning breakfast. ❤️

Looks delish, but one thing that stood out above the cooking, and that was the fact that u are both awesome grandparents to Solo and Sarahs children! Its hard to be so far away from ur grandkids, as i have a granddaughter in Bradenton and i live in Lancaster Co. Pa. I miss so much of her life. That is wonderful you have so much patience to teach him to cook. When my daughter was younger I found it bothersome to show her (I only had 1). Now I am 66 and not able to do the cooking which I actually miss , so she has to do it for me. Even though I really didn't teach her much she is a fairly good cook. Hi sweetheart you have beautiful Grandbabies.when my Grandmother McGill made sawmill gravy.She would brown cornmeal with her flour. I know others would do the same thing. Sausage gravy was served in logging camps ( my husband worked in them as a young man) and originally it was gritty texture that loggers said he cook put sawdust in the gravy. My husband is still a big fan of biscuits and gravy I make it for Christmas morning breakfast Eli did a great job 😊
