I can’t believe I haven’t heard this song. I was infatuated with Sawyer Brown and thought I knew every song they did. You’ve got to go down the rabbit hole of doing more songs they have. Some are super fun and some have a good message. And I want to again suggest Luke Bryan’s ‘Build Me A Daddy’

I got a story for you. Rings true to the first part of the song. I have my concealed carry permit and legally carry a gun. It was my sons birthday who has down syndrome. Out of all places we pull into a parking spot at Chick-Fil-a. My wife, 2 kids, and a friends kids were in the car. When we go to get out I have no idea whats happening but the linebacker sized guy in the car next to us started yelling at us saying we can't just dent peoples cars and get away with it. Turns out the kids friend that was with us accidentally hit their door with ours. He was yelling "I'm coming out there and going to F you up. Whoop your A__". I was calm and told him "its ok, we can fix this. I'll give you a copy of my id and insurance, that it's not a big deal". He was still mad. my family didnt realize anything was going on and started to get out of the car. My wife gathered the kids behind our car (she has a gun permit as well). I kept distance between us and saw no damage to his car. The whole time he was still yelling about kicking our a__.. I was standing there thinking "I don't want to shoot a guy on my kids birthday". He looked at the car, saw no damage. was still yelling while getting back in his car. He slammed it in reverse and came close to hitting one of the kids . Of course my wife went into mama bear mode and yelled at him "IDGAF what's going on up there but you about hit one of my kids. You need to stop it" Thats when it hit him. He puts it into park. His wife apologizes and so does he. He said that his best friend just unalived himself that morning and they never should have even left home. He apologized 3 more times and said they were heading to the house. Just goes to show like the song gets at... you never know what people are going through. I will always protect myself and my family. Just thankful I was able to not make the day worse for them. Last thing I ever want to do is to use my gun. De-escalation, staying calm, and providing space to avoid a full on confrontation won this day. I hope they were able to find peace.
