As a longtime country fan. I have always felt Sawyer Brown is seriously underrated. They made some amazing music. This song, the lyrics are timeless.

Sawyer Brown had a long ride and really evolved through the years. Their early stuff was high energy and fun: "Step That Step", "Betty's Being Bad", and "Some Girls Do". Later, they had a resurgence doing more serious stuff like this song, "Cafe On The Corner", and "All These Years". It's all great.

One of my favorite songs. Thank you for reacting. I love seeing new people reacting to songs that mean a lot to me. ❤

Mark Miller's vocals is one thing that really sets Sawyer Brown apart from other country artists who hit it big in the 90s. My favorite songs by Sawyer Brown are All These Years, The Walk, Some Girls Do, Cafe on the Corner, Trouble On the Line, This Time, I Don’t Believe In Goodbye, and This Night Won't Last Forever.

The official video makes this song hit even harder. It showed each of the stages, from the kid not wanting to get on the bus, to being 18 and getting drafted (which it doesn't explicitly say in the song but shows in the video), and then having a kid of his own who doesn't want to get on the bus. It's a tear jerker for sure.

I had this song played at my dads funeral. Even though I have always been daddys girl, the song had such a deep story of life I couldn't refrain. The understanding of I've been there and it will be ok was comforting to me. Dad has been gone almost 12 years and I still am comforted by this song. (Can't get through it without tears),

This is why I get so angry when the woke culture tells us that kids do not need Fathers in their lives. I had a Father, without him, I would have ended up in prison, or dead. I was a WILD kid! I fought, pulled pranks, had a hot temper, and ended up in the principal's office at least once a week. My Dad worked 70 hours a week. When my Mother told him of my behavior, he took time aside to correct me. He used physical punishment as well as love. I never took part in that behavior again! Do not get me wrong, my Dad spent time with us, but he did not know of our school behavior, that was our Mother's place. Our Mother lost control, so our Father corrected us, and man did we stay corrected! I am so grateful that my Father was there to save our lives. He died at the age of 53, and I still wish for his guidance. I am only 5 years away from the age he was when he died, trust me, I count every day. Fathers make a huge difference in a kids life. Thanks!!

Absolutely amazing band. And to think they got their start on a little show called “Star Search” hosted by Ed McMahon back in the day. This song shows the evolution from one generation to the next. Not all of us will go through this “walk” but this song is meant for those who do.

Love this song...another excellent one, and I don't mean to make you cry, is Tim Rushlow's song, She Misses Him. The song deals with the heartache of dementia. Tim was the lead singer of Little Texas. This is a solo venture. I guarantee you'll be very, very touched.😊

I am the primary caretaker of my 6 year old step son, and we walk to school together every day since its right around the corner. I have known him since he was 3, and he can get upset over a ton of stuff and I tell him "Hey buddy I've been there, you will be alright." When he is 18 and I am 49...I will still tell him the same thing. This song is a bit of a tear jerker, but a great song.

I grew up on Charley Pride in the early 70s. Give "Anybody going to San Antonio.", “Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'”, "Mountain of Love" or “Wonder Could I Live There Anymore” a try. Great examples of Country.

The first verse reminds me of me and my dad. Dad took me to school on my first day. I was feeling sick to my stomach as we stood in the office that morning, I think while he was enrolling me. I crouched at his feet, pleading with him to take me home because I felt sick. Then he took me to class. The teacher had to bear hug me on her lap as I kicked, screamed, and cried, as I watched my dad through the door window walking down the sidewalk out of sight. Funny to look back on now. Kinda embarrassing. I was always excited at the thought of going to school, but when the day finally came, I threw the biggest fit imaginable.. It was also weird to think I acted that way, because I was always a quiet and mindful kid.
