Sawyer Tap Filter First Impressions

Sawyer Tap Filter is a water filter designed to attach to a house faucet, but also looks like it can be used as a gravity filter. Hopefully in a future video we can compare the Sawyer mini, squeeze and tap filter.

It's 500 gallons a day for 10 years so it's 1.8 million gallons of filtration capability that I would say it's probably going to be a little less than that

from Sawyers FAQ about this filter "Proper use and maintenance of the filter will allow for this filter to be used for 10+ years." Mister calculator puts that at over 1.7 million gallons. Not a bad investment.

The first one I had stopped working and I had to buy another one. It had been backflushed, set out to dry, then put on a shelf. Went back several months later, and there was zero water flow, nothing. After trying and trying, I finally got a trickle out of it. Flow never returned to normal after the first use.

There was a recent E coli outbreak in Jacksonville, even if it was only localized to a small area, including where I live. I use a different filter than this Sawyer for everyday use, but Sawyer is a central part of my preps. FYI.....Self Reliance Outfitters said 100k gallons life when they carried the item; Hiking Lady blog also states 100k gallons. Sawyer seems to state everything at 100k gallons nowadays.

Nice, the mini is a waste of money. The flow rate sucks. The original squeeze is good.
