Yes, thank-you that is a life style I have finally adapted after 20 years of off and on half-hearted dieting. I put myself fully into it this time and lost 30 pounds and have kept it off almost a year. Its not the weight loss though, its how wonderful I feel and look - hair, skin etc. I have finally been on a healthy way of eating and exercise long enough to really know how great it is to live like this. People give up too soon before they really enjoy the benefits. I'll never go back to that garbage way of eating or sedatary lifestyle.. Thanks for your comment.

centpushups Your comment in particular hit me. I started having gut troubles when I was only 3, struggled with constant gas pains and I’d cry a lot. My parents sort of raised me on a hot dog, mac n cheese, sloppy joe diet. We had barely any veggies, tons of fruit and tons of processed bad foods. I was a chubby kid, and around the age of 8 I developed crippling intestinal cramping all the time, and constipation. I mean I would literally not poop for weeks. My stomach would get distended. When I was 12 I developed pcos and ibs(c). I had all these tests done and all they said to do was take a cocktail of medicines to treat the pain. Laxatives, fiber pills, anti acids. These all made my pain worse and when I was 14 my mom pulled me out of school because I was unable to go. Finally, luck would have it that last year I got an ad on spotify for celiac disease which i’ve never been tested for. I had every symptom. I went gluten free and dairy free and suddenly, J was actually pooping. And i stopped experiencing the intestine pain that was so bad that i’d sweat and cry. I began a health journey and I went from 195 pounds to 140 and i’m still losing!!! I wish someone like dr berg would have helped me. Health issues stole my youth away. (i’m 19 almost 20 now). My period is also regular now.

Also, resistance training (working out with weights) allows insulin and branch chain amino acids to enter your muscles and helps to keep you from becoming insulin resistant. If you don't have weights, do some bicep curls with a can of food or milk jugs filled with water. If you don't exercise your muscles they will become lazy and insulin resistant. And if they already are, wake them up with some exercise. Wishing everyone a healthy life!

57 years old. Following Dr. Berg's advice for 6 months. Lost 20 pounds of fat, easily. I was always a "health nut". Always went for the whole foods and tried to eat a wide variety of proteins and vegetables. But I went off the path somewhere around 45 years old and ate a lot of bad stuff and drank too much alcohol. Now I'm alcohol free and following healthy keto. I have a little loose skin, but I am staying on course, doing high intensity weight training 3 times a week and walking the other days. I also want to add that daily dry skin brushing and exfoliating helps a lot with the appearance of skin and a good moisturizer and sunscreen to prevent further wrinkling is making difference. My blood pressure is normal now, and so are my blood glucose numbers, (bought a monitor). In 2 months I will get my bloodwork and see what everything else looks like. I am requesting insulin and cortisol this time. I am maintaining now, doing 2 meals a day instead of OMAD. I'm never hungry, the only negative is that I still sometimes get sleepy after I eat. Trying to figure that one out. I have saved a lot of money too not buying so much food and needless snacks and WINE!!! Thank you Dr. Berg, you are a hero.

Glad to hear the mention of coffee. When I think back to when weight gain began, it started for me with drinking lots of coffee (and cream and sugar) instead of eating. It was during a high stress time of life. Then when I left the stress environment, I decided to try eating vegan and I now think it was the addition of lots of soy that made things worse. Many years later, I am mostly but not exclusively plant-based and I avoid soy altogether. The coffee is something I have abstained from for weeks or months at a time but I do like to come back to it. Just 4oz-8oz each day is a comfort. My preference is having it early afternoon after my main meal.

Great job. I was a heavy coffee drinker too and wine on the weekends once or twice a month. No more wine and only one cup of black coffee a day. Now I’m drinking lemon water with green tea ginger and apple cider with a pinch of sea salt throughout the day and Eating 18/6 basically 2 meals noon and 4PM. I feel much better and no real signs of loose skin at 68 however I’m a gym rat but really only walk on the treadmill and do about 500 leg lifts a day on the bars because I love the bars. Sometimes I will lift light weights and push the sleigh 3 times a week but mostly I’m socializing 😊

I'm trying this. When I first started Keto in 2018, I lost 20 lbs (170 down to 150) which caused the skin on my face to look saggy. I loved weighing 150 at height of 5' 7" , but hated how my face looked, so I gained some weight back (160 now). I'm going to try this, get back down to 150, hopeful, with firmer skin. 😊 The main thing I love about Keto is that, I feel better and am more productive in my life. The weight loss is a bonus.😊

My latest A1C is 5.4 and I stopped taking metformin 2 months prior. I have a lot of those symptoms, I feel like I lost muscle in my calves and they hurt all the time, exhausted after eating protein combined with small portion of carbs. Plus I was snacking after dinner, when I woke from my nap. Lunch is always a big bowl of veggies. I have learned no more snacks for me and no more carbs at dinner. Most of all don't fill up on caffeine after work for energy, go for water. I can feel the belly fat kicking up a notch.

It's not their fault. Sugar/starch is a multi-billion dollar industry which attracts the best (worst?) advertising talents to push their drugs onto everyone. Yep. Dope pushers all of em. All they care about is the money. That's all. They do not care one iota if they kill 3/4 of the population. One person alone cannot resist these monsters. As long as you are providing a good example you are contributing to the good. Steel your mind and stick with the healthy folks.
@Pecan2155 жыл бұрын
I think it can take a LONG time for some people to move out of the fog of denial about sugar, diabetes, etc. We need to be patient, and we don't need to subscribe to their denial, and addictions. It's hard enough to manage ourselves, do our own self-care around our diet and food, much less manage the negative people who cannot accept the truth, unfortunately. Not making excuses for the deniers ... but we need to give them the room to finally figure everything out. Look how we have been duped into believing "low fat is healthy", for example. There are a lot more lies we've been told about food. That's called gaslighting, and it's very destructive to our society. I think we can set the example by doing our own self-care, losing weight, eating well, lead by example. Just taking care of ourselves will cause others to take notice...after a while of watching us and noticing how well we look...not just the weight, but also the KETO/I.F. GLOW (from autophagy) that comes with following this way of life.

Id try having a Broth Mug or Soup with say lunch & see how that goes. Also Eggs keep me going without feeling hunger. Joy Yoder - Doing a water fast for a few days a month (assuming there's no medical reason you shouldn't fast) is one way of getting rid of loose skin left over from when you weighed more. (If you starve your body of protein, which happens in a water fast, it'll eventually reach a point where it digests available protein from loose, unneeded skin, according to Dr. Jason Fung.) (But again, obviously you'd need to make sure first there's no medical reason not to fast... if there is, don't do it.)
@marbat96127 жыл бұрын
Nils Osmar most people ends up with loos skin and dark rings under the eyes unless someone is in their 20th this what usually happend
@Nilsosmar7 жыл бұрын
Mar Bat - according to Dr. Jason, Fung, if you have loose skin, one way to get rid of it is to do a five day fast several times in the same year. (Not just caloric restriction, but a full fast.) (Just restricting calories can actually CAUSE loose skin, and can cause the problems you're talking about) Of course you shouldn't fast if you have any kind of medical condition that makes it contraindicated with consulting with a doctor. But assuming you're in good health, many people have reported that if they do enough fasting, it will get rid of the loose skin you're talking about.

7 slices of bacon a day? That's preposterous. There are at least 10 slices in even the smallest package. Why would someone waste the other 3?
