@Beccayaseen it’s common courtesy for them to ask you all those questions. Most of them have already said the same things like 12 to 18 times that day and the only thing I’d let them do personally is change the oil and the typical fluids under the hood. Everything else do it yourself or have someone that can do it for you

Coolant flush is absolutely a real thing and worth doing every 100k miles
@robertcamara73004 ай бұрын
Another great video, great job on the repair. I am a part time, ASE certified Vehicle tech and have a mobile service truck. You did not get over charged at all by the repair shop or the valvoline for the services provided. Also the amount of driving you do a coolant flush and refill is a good investment as coolant breaks down over time like all automotive fluids do. Safe travels!!
@shelley67464 ай бұрын
It’s a very good idea to get your radiator flushed!!! That expense was a very good thing!! It’s just apart of being a good vehicle owner and can save your motor from blowing a head!! My oil change from Valvaline was $195 for oil, wipers, filters! 😮😮😮
@Deadcntr4 ай бұрын
You should have your radiator flushed every 3 years. And what they charged ŵas reasonable. Ford antifreeze is pretty expensive. So the overall charge was within reason.
@JoeyJackson-200T4 ай бұрын
Keep your receipt on the oil change and hopefully they use the correct coolant for your truck. Not all coolants are equal.

In my area we have both Juffy Lube and Valvoline, plus other quick stop oil change places. They are all about the same. They do have alot of add on questions (feels like going through a fast food drive thru and the upcharges... "would you like to make that a large fry AND a large drink") Actually having the radiator flushed isnt a bad idea, especially if you haven't had it done before. The plus side to that is NOW you know the condition of your radiator and the hoses, so if they are in good shape, pedal to the metal sista'. You have everything coming together great on your truck/camper and you're doing it your way. Safe travels. God's hands on your hands on the wheel. When you blaze through West Virginia (the state, not western Virginia... people get that confused Alot!!🙄 ) Give a shout out!!

I've had a lot of trouble with Valvoline. A radiator flush is often recommended, even at Jiffy Lube. I am dubious whether it's a good idea, let alone a requirement. I'm not a mechanic, either. Likewise, I'm also surprised at how much of the suspension they replaced, and that both sides needed to be done. Watch Scotty Kilmer here on KZbin. He tends to shout, but once I got past that, he taught me more than any other single source about auto maintenance. He is probably where I heard not to flush the radiator.

I love the flares! Looks Rad! You just reminded me that I need to take my Rave 4 in for an oil change! Hope that fixed the wood! Probably a good idea to flush the radiator, even if it was expensive! I would use Valvoline over Jiffy Lube any day! Jiffy Lube messed up the AC on my Subaru Outback the day before I was leaving to go to the beach to get married! 🤬🤬 Had to go to another Jiffy Lube to get it fixed the morning I was leaving! Thank God they got it fixed or I would’ve been screwed! I had my 2 dogs and my sister with me too, so definitely couldn’t go to the beach in NC without AC!! Happy Camping and Safe Travels!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🐶🐶

Coolent is very important, when I do mine every 5 years I normally change the thermostat at the same time with a genuine one or the type that stays open if it fails, just so my 4wd dosnt overheat ever.

Flushing your radiator every year is a good idea. Pretty easy, to do yourself, so is an oil change. My only thing would be that it, had you had your mechanic do your oil change, he may have suggested the flush and it probably would have been cheaper. But otherwise good to do one a year, especially with all the driving you do.

Hello Becca I live in in Oregon and I have a 2001 Chevy 1500 Silverado and it has full synthetic oil in it can I get my oil changes done in Oil Can Henry's and there are Valvoline dealer they tell me with full synthetic that you don't have to be crazy about right on time oil changes you can go at least 3,000 Mi above what they recommend just in case you're not timely on it not timely on your oil changes depending on how old your truck is a radiator flush isn't a bad thing I've had mine flushed out already too I still have to have my air conditioning fixed I had it recharged once but there's something wrong with where they fill it up at the valve in their likes to stick down so it opens it up so it leaks out

I took my suv to Jiffy Lube and they charged me an arm and a leg for what they did! So after that I took it to a local mechanic who is more honest than the Jiffy Lube peeps! So I go to him now for a year almost! He saves me more money than the dealership who would want more money! They always get you if you don’t need it yet! So next time you need an oil change get your mechanic to give you a quote first!
