Maybe someday you could also do a video on swapping the triangle windows out to the ones that will open to vent. Love watching your videos it inspired me to buy my own old xj 1992 laredo.

I did it years ago on my 86. Found a set at the yard and got em home. It really wasn’t bad at all. I did it way before KZbin and way before I had a clue what I was doing with cars in general. You can do it!

I do body work for a living. I made leads for my m12 batteries to roll windows up and down working on stuff. An old coworker cut the plugs out of used doors and converted a broken drill to plug the connectors into so he can just plug whatever connector fits the motor into the drill and operate it. As far as those rivets... i use a small belt geinder/ band file. Milwaukee makes one. They also make an m12 rivet tool. Its nice to have especially if you work on chrysler stuff with tons of rivets in them.

The majority of the time if a window is slow, it's because the track is dirty. I once made the mistake of buying a new motor only to have the window travel at the same speed. I use dry lube spray to prevent dirt and debris from sticking.

I just finished doing the opposite on mine lol. I also replaced entire passenger frame "rail". Half the drivers. Passenger shackle attachment point all floor pans feont and rear. Half the firewall. Swapped the entire interior from a 92 laredo, swappped entire harness so i can have electric window's and mirrors and rear jensen audio system and overhead dome computer. Electric seats etc. Welded in the metal under battery trey. Swapped entire dash and cluster and swapped sending switches so i can have actual gauges and not idiot light's. Did both rocker panels inner and outer. Both rear quarters. Front bumper and rear bumper. Hitch mounting hardware was rusted off. Swappped fuel tank. This dam thing has been a JOB and a half and has set me back a month.....im so close to finishin it up

This video made me have an idea Dex. How about a weight reduction video. The vehicle still has to seal up like normal but what can you remove to cut weight? And save all the items so we can see the pile of junk that isn’t necessary. Just wondering how light you can go. Every nut, bolt, vacuum hose, you name it. 🤷‍♂️

When I had my renix, the window regulators were hard to come by for manual. Parts stores cannot source them. I had to wait till my local junkyard had some. Treat them things like gold! Ebay had one for double what a whole electric assembly cost brand new!

Do you have an aluminum 2.5 valve cover? I’m in Iowa, looking to swap out the leaking plastic one on my Comanche. eBay’s 150$ seems like too much for a 300$ truck. Thx

👇Im sure this will help someone.👇 So a freind of my family was a sound guy for alot of major 70's - 80's bands back in the day. Disney approached him with a problem. They couldn't keep speakers from going bad on some very wet attractions. Our friend solved the problem by going to Radio Shack and picking up some cheap speakers and coating them with some Thompsons Deck Sealer.
