There has been rumors floating around for a few years that Rocksteady didn't want to do this game. They originally pitched a Superman game (I think some concept art exists on the internet) after the completion of Arkham Knight. Which is why they're a number of Superman Easter eggs in Knight... well long story short, WB passed on their pitch. And WB wanted someone to make a Suicide Squad game for years, so they threw it at Rocksteady. Which does make some sense since Stefon Hill who directed their Arkham games left the studio, as did their founder. There is no passion in this project if that's true.

The most innovative thing they did in this game was change the "weak spots" on enemies from yellow to purple. Worth noting that two of the co-founders of Rocksteady left the studio at the end of last year. Almost like they knew this wasn't going to be what people were looking for. Trailer has 7k likes and 32k dislikes at the moment.

Dude the biggest waste of potential in this game has to be the decision to make it a suicide squad game. I don’t know why the DC higher ups and powers that be have a hard on for suicide squad but it doesn’t make sense. To me it’s an IP that is niche and no offense to the fans of the individual characters but nobody wants to play as these dudes. If they were smart and they wanted to make a party/co-op style hero game with the antagonists being the Justice league… It should have been a Teen titans game. At this point most gamers at least have familiarity and grew up with either the original show or for the younger crowd Teen titans Go! There would be immediate traction for all the familiarity with the characters and IP and more popular characters to introduce as DLC or base playable… not to mention it is more believable for the Teen Titans to take on and defeat the Justice league than the suicide squad… especially the one in the game. Suicide squad isn’t inherently interesting without the suicide part as in dudes dying left and right for the mission and even then it isn’t as cool as Titans… I bet they will handle how each Justice League member gets defeated horribly

You are not lying at all. When I first heard about this game, I thought "Wow, the story can be great, the boss battles are gonna go crazy" especially after Arkham Knight. I was hyped to see this at State of Play but the minute the gameplay started, my whole mood just went down. It looked cartoonish, very "Sunset Overdrive" like, just a "shoot shit till it breaks" and that is pointless. Even the boss battles, like what are those gonna be like? If anything, they could have made a Batman Arkham game that took place a couple years before Arkham Knight where he had to fight the Justice League and build around that. Like if this is just a shooter game and shoot at enemies weak spots, I will wait to get this for free because $70 for fluff is the devils work.
