Arkham knight still holds up and it was on unreal engine 3 game was wayy ahead of its time (Spiderman 2 probably using the dual combat features it pioneered) back in 2015. Gotham Knights is a joke and I've been saying it since the reveal. Now I also hope people understand why co-op will never work for Spiderman 2 due to the concessions that would have to be made to accommodate that mode. In the pursuit to separate themselves from arkham they created the most generic game of all time 😂 the irony. Sucks to be a batman fan I should know he's my favorite superhero of all time.

Only thing that has my interest is the story because of The Court of Owls. -gameplay looks stiff, slow, and bland. Even Nightwing who's supposed to be agile looks slow in combat. Kind of reminds me of Square Enix Avengers' combat. -voice acting and delivery didn't sound amazing from the little that was shown either. -artistically and graphically (though they don't always matter) the game doesn't pop like the Arkham games. It feels like this game started development in the middle of the PS4/Xbox One life cycle so current generation doesn't take advantage. Not something I'll buy for the $70 they're asking for on current generation. Definitely a Black Friday purchase for me.

They’ve built this game around Cross Gen and removed it about 6 months before release. They’re not going to be able to fix shit. What you see here is what you’re gonna get at launch, Unless they push the release date to next year. And since they canceled cross gen, they might as well push that release date back. I mean, Arkham Knight came out in like 2015. Gotham Knights comes out this year and it looks like this. Some Arkham/Fortnite hybrid. The only thing that could save them is if they push the release date back a year and work out that gameplay, character models, modes of transportation and this overall lackluster feel I got from watching this gameplay

I just mean in terms of quality and what they are aiming for. All these games fall into the same bucket. Good games that aren't necessarily for everyone. They'll have the hype and popularity based on the IP itself but end up being less fun than random Indie games like Kena. That's the only reason I call em discount/sale buys coz they aren't games that you'd necessarily check for at launch unless you are a fan of the genre and/or franchise IP.

However Insomniac really managed to take that formula and improve upon it even more. Now RockSteady should improve on THAT added formula even more. It's the idea of consistently cross-referencing each other(Think Capcom with Street Fight and SNK with King of Fighters. Two companies that constantly take from each other, albeit at times it may not work, but occasionally you stand to benefit more). I'm not saying that Insomniac did it first.
