A small fan is enough to suck the fumes away from your face. Some irons have a built-in extractor ending in a thin tube over the solder point. As for pins in your fingertips, it could be A) *actual* pins, bits of wire; B) your iron gets too hot in the handle; C) you're sensitive or allergic to lead, resin, or any other materials you're touching while working. I am blown away that someone is talking to a computer, to fix an computer... I am watching again a Star Trek TNG for Nth time... And it is so full of ahead of time functions, like tablets, talking computer, voice commands, multi-touch interfaces (with real LCARS interface designed for the show) and wireless real-time translator/communicators. Since 2017 when neural networks were taken in use to develop further in the computers capability gather and collect information and then represent it in form to the human that it makes sense, it has changed a lot what could be done. Even when ChatGPT etc are not real Artificial Intelligence, it has become as what computers were thought to be decades ago, dreaming that you could ask from computer "What I can do from food I have in fridge?" or "Call to Office, say that I am late" and then computer would initiate the call, make the call and end the call without even you doing it, just like a proper digital assistant was visioned.

@@Sayakas_Digital_Attic There is/was a price competitions years back for development of medical device, literally explaining it to be like a Tricorder from TNG, and requisition was to be able detect 100 something different illnesses or disease. Meant for on-field analysis in developing countries. That would be a breakthrough many ways to be able perform a scan with handheld device. Many ways such is like oscilloscopes are for electronics, you get data and need to interpret that to know what you are looking for. Next step is to get oscilloscopes wireless as well. Point it at the electronic device and it would tell you if some components are faulty or device is working properly. If we could just read easily the electricity without touching the components. Example, hover a sensor piece over a whole chip and it would figure out what you are pointing at, how many pins and what kind signal each pin delivers. And then lay it out for you schematics it see, and then compare it to library of comparable ones and inform if something is broken. We can have a high end radar with 70-90 cm diameter antenna and electronically controlled beam shaping and direction, that takes high resolution images from 60-100 km away that you can recognize cars and how many tires it has and what is its shape all the way to how many doors it has. Could we have sensor that can see through common plastics and see all metal conductors and such on circuit board from close range, like 20-30 cm? If a circuitry can be detected, you can figure out where are what kind components positions, build schematics and apply some Chat got to figure out what circuit board you are looking etc and where is usual problems. And if sensor is high enough, it could detect electricity flow on each pathway or component at least. Even if it would be a pen size pointer with few millimeter beam width. One can just dream...

Even correct answers were far from being optimal, and AI was unable to fix this, even with my guidance. It's also pretty easy to "crash them", meaning they fall in an infinite loop answering the same (wrong) way again and again. So I would't trust AI for anything. In this case, however, you obviously know what you are doing and you didn't need AI anyway. Still, it was an interesting experiment.

I was wondering if you were going to do an English version of this video. Strangely enough I find this one better than the Italian version, because I feel that ChatGPT in Italian has an irritating English accent. As a non-native speaker I struggle with my accent so I'm maybe a lot more sensitive to this. Besides being very good at repairing computers, and having the courage to work on such old machines, you also seem to be excellent at video-editing as both versions look great. Looking forward to you working on the Ti99/4A from the outro, mine died a smokey death a few years ago :(
