everything you said about bridge of clay was my exact thoughts about the starless sea tbh! i *adored* the night circus and was ready to devour the next thing erin morgenstern released, but i felt like it was trying too hard to be... pretty? and nothing really happened? it was boring??? but the disappointment taught me that not everything an author touches turns to gold, and that's okay~

Does this unread book description still hold my interest? How long has this unread book been on my shelf?' I get a lot of my books from goodwill and ill find books I'm interested in but never read them.

If I didn't like it, if it was a meh/just okay book that if I got rid of I won't feel bad it's missing (this one is tricky and need to be a pile on the ground for a week for it to be believable), and or maybe books I will never ever reread again.

I never used to get rid of books. Partly because I only bought books I really loved already or new I would love. Then I got rid of a couple dozen. Now I still limit what I buy, but am more open to the idea of “re-homing” books.

A book unhaul is always healthy in my opinion; it's a good way to get rid of books that you don't like or have no interest in, and to make room for books that you'll love. Also, amazing video as always, Jesse 👍 ❤; the editing is amazing!!! I have some books that I want to get rid of, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet (three of them are Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock; A Lite Too Bright; and Midnight Sun). I usually get rid of books if I didn't like them.

🙈 I got rid of all of my books recently in favor of my e reader. I’ve tried all kinds of book lights but with my poor vision, I was finding it really difficult to read physical books. Also, I have pretty nasty carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome and found it difficult to hold them up. I enjoy the adjustable font type, size and light warmth and brightness on my kindle as well as the built in clock and dictionary. I definitely miss my wall of books but I didn’t plan on re reading the majority of them any way and I can always watch videos like this to look longingly at covers lol.

I did a lot of unhauling in 2021 and I have a list of books going to continue the unhaul the next time I’m at my mom’s place. Most of them were duplicate copies that I realized I really didn’t need but some of them are books I’ve read that I gave 1 or 2 stars to or that I realized I was never going to read. It’s very therapeutic to say ‘see ya’ to those books 😂

I used to just do an unhaul whenever I reorganise my books. But now, I just dump books on my unhaul pile whenever I see it. Most recently it was Vespertine which was a dnf. I also have a few rules, some of which I know you don't that keeps me unhauling. One of these is to have multiple editions of any book. Another is to only keep books that I will reread. And there are many more. I have also made a reread to see if I keep pile for books I am on the fence about, and it has been really working for me so far. Some books have returned to my shelves, and some have been unhauled.

My biggest problem right now is getting rid of books I haven't read. Does the synopsis still sound interesting? Does reading the first couple of pages hold my interest? My unhauling of books is basically just throwing them at my sister (not literally because they are books, and they are delicate unlike my sister's skull) though I've never officially unhauled any books even though I really should since some of them are from when I was like 8 or 9 and frankly lily the angel in training, despite her sparkly pink sprayed edges just doesn't do it for me anymore (for context I've been reading for fun since I was about 7 years old and I am currently only 15 which is why I still have a bunch of children's books lying around my bookshelf, some middle grades are awesome and I would love to reread them anytime others not so much) also throughout primary school half the books I read were classics from the school library so that's also an added factor

I don't really have a space problem so far, but books i do unhaul go straight into the booklibary I have outside my house. Most of the time those are books I did not like or which I thought I will never read. So far I enjoy almost every book that I read but sometimes I do think if I need to unhaul would this be one I would unhaul??? I don't think I quickly would for books I read so far, but maybe in the future I will unhaul more as I will eventually get space problems 😂
