Saying goodbye to a friend

There are many people that help shape who we become. Sometimes you don't really understand the impact they have until they are gone.
Gerard (ZL2GVA) was a close friend who had an impact on my life. This is just a very short tribute that can't possibly reflect how much of an impact that was.
If you have people that are have influenced your life then consider letting them know before you don't have a chance to do so.

Yesterday, 1 February, there was a celebration of Gerard’s life. Nick spoke and gave a wonderful tribute to his friend. It was thoughtful, witty, and from the heart. Thank you Nick. We all miss Gerard, we will always speak of him, and we’ll keep close as we navigate life without Gerard.

Thank you. The end came very quickly and with little warning. Only a few weeks before he had accompanied me on one of my activations. There were no signs then that there was little time left. Very much a lesson on making the most of every opportunity. Nick
