We had lots of cloudy days here in S Florida but I got one clearish night and it looked like a smudgy star on my 16pro 30sec.

Awesome! It's still very visible to telescopes. I saw it last night with my phone and a pair of binos. Couldn't see it naked eye though.

I saw it in the morning towards the start of the month but I was here in the city for most of the month until this past Saturday where I went down to John Glenn Astronomy Park in southern Ohio where it is a bortle 3 - 3.5 I saw it with my 12 inch dobsonian telescope and IT BLEW MY MIND very clearly saw the core and quite a bit of a tail even at 43 power it took up the entire field of view and it was very stunning in binoculars which are 15 x 70s. Also had my iphone 14 pro on a tripod taking 30 min exposures of the milky way which did not turn out great until I noticed I had used my ultra wide lens on my phone I was looking over the picure where I saw the comet. If I had not goofed up and not used my ultra wide lens and used my normal lens I dont think I would have gotten it in the frame! A blessing in disguise for sure! I wonder of asteroid Apophis whill be visable like A3 when it comes around!

Awesome, glad to hear you were able to see the comet! I don't think Apophis will be visible to the naked eye. It could probably be seen flying across the sky using cameras and telescopes but I believe it's a solid rock so there won't be much (if any) dust getting blown off by the solar radiation. We'll know more in a few years.

@@Naztronomy Yes! I am hoping its visable with a binoculars or at least with a large newtonian reflector like mine! By then I should have a good imaging rig hahaha.

Goodbye a3, hello s1. Also atlas comet visible from tomorrow.
@Naztronomy2 ай бұрын
Sadly, S1 has started to disintegrate. Last observed brightness is mag 9.7. It'll be a hard one to photograph. But if you get to see it, let me know! I'll definitely keep tracking it.

Would this be visible from the ISS?
@Naztronomy2 ай бұрын
Yep, if you look up Astronaut Matthew Dominick, he's captured some amazing photos and timelapses of the comet from the ISS.
