KZbin recommended your channel to me a few days ago. Just watched the entire mini series over the last few days. Really enjoyed it, I can really relate as I have gone though the same struggles over the years working on minis on my driveway. Please get another mini project car! Well done getting this one finished.

Man, what a journey. Just finished all your videos on Bob. I admire your attitude, I know it's not always easy to keep it up. You've done great both on the repairs and the videos! I learned a lot from you and am now inspired and motivated to start also working more on my Mini, which is something I've been a bit afraid of not having any experiences. So thanks a lot! I wish you all the best!

The Southern states generally tend to not have front 'tags' - we have to have somewhere to put our SEC/National Championship tags! My neighbor is still sporting her '09 Gator Natty tag?!? I treat them like the Claret Jug - After a year it goes away...

How much did it sell for? I think it would be really interesting if you did a video on what the total cost of the parts to repair it were, and a rough approximation of time spent working on it.

Sad to see Bob go. As a Mini owner i have really enjoyed watching you fight with him. Love the fact that you do it all in a parking space with minimal tools and still get the job done. I fitted a new High Pressure Fuel Pump on my R56 on Sunday. In fact I have done a few jobs on her that I probably wouldnt have attempted if not for your videos (and mini forums). Its a bit more stressful when its your daily driver though. When its got to be driveable by the next day it puts the pressure on. Interested to see what the next one will be. Was surprised to see you at Torque Monkey too. My wife works just round the corner from there, other side of B + Q.

That’s so great to hear - I hope more people realise that you don’t need all the tools and facilities to just get stuff done 🙌🏻 Ahh a fellow Chelmsfordian! If I shouted from my house your wife could probably hear me - probably has with all the knuckle scrapes haha

Just seen your car on Ebay, ... I'm sure you will do well on it, especially if they have watched you rebuild it like we all have here. If I never had an R53 myself, I would of snapped your hand off with this one because of all the work done. The moment I got mine I modded it up big time, more boost, light crank pulley, 17% Charger Pulley, Stainless Exhaust, Ram Air induction, etc etc etc, .... I'm pretty sure a Mini club member with keep on bidding on this one ... Hope you get loads of money for it and hope you get all your money back and proffit. Can't wait to watch your next project car ;-)

The rear wiper arm won’t fit, because you have the metal ring out the old one stuck on there still. Very common issue.. Also missing one of the arch lining trim clips as well if that’s the sort of thing that you’ll worry about 😂 Done well on the car, good luck with the sale.
@NotEconomicallyViable2 жыл бұрын
Ahh I did think that metal ring might have been from the old wiper. I did have a quick go at trying to get it off, but didn’t want to give it too much force in case it was part of the motor

I've just got my own cooper S and was watching your engine out video to try and see where a particular cable was connected as I have one that's swinging in the breeze and no obvious place to connect it. Good to see I'm not the only one that has a frustrating time with cars!

Hiya mate, Just wanted to say that this is a fantastic channel and you've come so far already on this 1 car. I've just bought my brother in laws R53 that sat on his drive for 2 years unused, it needs a bit of work - overheating, ABS light, corroded brake line etc. Browsing KZbin for those issues and obviously came across your channel, I've now binged this whole playlist in 3 days lol - playlist is backwards btw :( - going from no experience to having the engine out and finally passing mot with no advisories is a fantastic feat and I hope you're very proud of yourself. About to start the next playlist now and hope its just as eventful. All the best, Ryan

Bye Bob☺️ Glad you are concentrating on your channel, It’s really hard to grow a channel these days with so many established players but I think you have a real shot at growing with this format, your likeable, watchable, you don’t waffle on to much you get you hands dirty and stuck in and show working being done. I pay for KZbin premium as it’s mostly what I watch so made up when I found you, and tbh it’s nice to actually have interaction and not be lost in a million comments, though I hope I am one day for you lol as it means you have lots of subs haha. Anyhow that wiper arm, just rebuilt my wiper motor on my E87 as BMWs idea of having the washer jet go through the spindle was an overly complex design which looks prone to failure, I say that because I noticed the new arm you got looked like it had the cut out for where the washer fluid sprays through but couldn’t see the corresponding hole in the spindle. Could that be the difference on later cars and they changed the design? Might be why the old one was removed and blanked off as they gum up. Just a thought. Keep going mate loving your channel on the best of luck with the sale.
@paulburgess14552 жыл бұрын
The washer jet is still in the spindle and the splined part of the old arm is also still on the spindle.

Iain, you've been a huge support from the very beginning, and these words just now have made me even more motivated to keep going.
