No, it’s good, I mean it is bad if you’re having suicidal depressive thoughts and then lie to yourself and say “nahhhh” aka denial, but if your brain tells you it’s gonna be a shit day and you say “nah it’s gonna be a good day” that’s just optimism, remember that hope is just positive doubt, neither your pessimistic or your optimistic thoughts know how your day is actually going to be because you can’t see the future, but at the end of the day, better to think you’re gonna have a good day than think you’re gonna have a bad one, because your belief will change from which perspective you see things. (glass half empty glass half full and all that)

i have a friend with depression. he does this, he lies to himself. i have depression too, but i don't like to lie to myself. i think that it's unhealthy to lie to yourself. no matter how shitty the life gets, you gotta accept the truth; and try to fight instead of trying to escape. you cant escape forever, it'll eventually comeback. speaking from my experience: i'm mostly happy at home, busy; but as soon as i don't have anything left to keep myself busy with, the depressive thoughts comeback. you shouldn't ignore it, you should see a therapist.
