Not a peak but a bump which can be rectified through smoothening. Thanks

in X-ray diffraction peak gets broadens in the nanocrystals due to the There are two types of peak broadening: the crystal size effect and the intrinsic strain effect, and the instrumental broadening. The instrumental broadening can be corrected, but how can I correct it to calculate the average particle size?
@SAYPhysics Жыл бұрын
The broadening of X-ray diffraction peaks in nanocrystals can be attributed to crystal size and intrinsic strain effects, along with instrumental broadening. While instrumental broadening can be corrected, methods such as the Scherrer equation can help calculate average particle size by factoring in crystal size and intrinsic strain effects. This allows for a more accurate determination of nanocrystal dimensions. The following playlist contains answers to all your questions. what about the peaks that were indicated downwards how to explain them.....?
@SAYPhysics2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the nature of a plot. If it's a transmission plot, downward peaks are the absorption and vice versa. Thanks

@@adityak3539 If it's related to different detectors offset, then OK. Otherwise, I don't think so. If you provide some information about what type of characterization (FTIR, UV-VIS-NIR, PL etc...) I can further discuss it. Thanks

@SAYPhysics2 жыл бұрын
In FTIR transmittance data, a downward peak show the absorbance. We've only one detector in FTIR, so no offset. Also there's no sample preparation for ATR and background is also subtracted automatically. Thanks
