The daughter may be opinionated, but seemed to really want her mom to look great. She was trying to boost her confidence in her own way. Rather sweet that the daughter wants her mom to look stunning. But the mom's choice was good. Just wish that, flower was not so huge. That cut and colour suited her beautifully.

Appointments are usually booked for an hour long, generally. There's an extra half hour that is used for clean up and then they're straight into their next appointment. So if you take over an hour and a half then you're using up the next person's appointment time. Also in regards to ordering, she's right, it takes about 5-8 months generally to order. Even more time if it's cut to order. Many shops have very few sizes to try on, let alone sell off the rack. -A bridal stylist

@MsNoPixel2 жыл бұрын
Because they most likely were… she doesn’t have all day, each consultant in places like these have many appointments & only have limited time they can spend with each client. There’s a BIG difference between rude & honest, she was never once rude, she was honest tho. I’m not tryna be an asshole but if you think someone saying “we’re almost out of time” in a pleasant tone is being “rude” than you’re a bit of a snowflake & need to stop being over dramatic because she was anything but rude, she was honest, trying to do her job & at the end of the day had zero complaints about how she did it from the actual customer. I find it funny though how you someone who isn’t involved complain & get so worked up over something that you were involved in yet the people who were involved said she was a pleasure to work with & that she gave her all & then some being she cut into her dedicated “clean” time between appointments to make sure this bride got her dress, the bride wrote a blog about her experience & she had no bad words to say. Also keep in mind that you see 8-10mins of cut together footage from appointments that run 1-2hrs so you base your opinion on nothing really, also it’s a reality tv show, they’re always edited to look a certain way, legit just watched a video from a bride the other day who said the SYTTD YT video made the experience seem super dramatized when in fact it was anything but & again that’s because it’s reality tv, the producers & editors specifically do things to get reactions out of people in hopes you’ll tell people about it because no matter if your opinion is good or bad you’re still promoting their show for free. Just a few things to keep in mind.

I have bpd, anxiety, and adhd; which makes me EXTREMELY sensitive to stressful situations under pressure. If I’m late or almost late, having someone constantly yelling at me to hurry up will make me dissociate, and will make my anxiety explode until I’m an overwhelmed yelling and crying anxious mess. I don’t think they understand how stressful it can be, especially for a decision as big as this. If I were in this situation, I just wouldn’t be able to control my emotions. I don’t yell or express my emotions around strangers because I also have extreme social anxiety, but I’d probably go into the changing room and have a full fledged panic attack. They should definitely be more mindful of peoples anxiety, because this would just ruin my dress shopping experience 100%. I think letting someone know that they just have to get the dress on, get the opinion, and then move on because they’re a little short for time is ok, but constantly badgering about it can ruin somebody’s experience. And it can also pressure the bride into getting a dress not because she loves it, but because she was under pressure.

I feel that people tend to be very defensive when it comes to 'she's the bride' moment and inputs that may not agree with general take on supportive role that entourage is suppose to have. Yes, we know she is the bride and of course that she is the one who should make the final decision. However, I feel that her young daughter is misunderstood. I feel the daughter picked up on true reasons for her mom's choice - she seemed to be rather harsh on herself and unable to see beyond her body image related insecurities - for no real reason, actually. Her figure is lovely, but she can't see beyond lumps and bumps and has chosen the dress that addresses them. Minus the flower, that was a nice dress, however, it doesn't do much for her. The color is not flattering, the cut is not too bad but she looked better in first dress IMO. She just needed the right size and alterations. I feel the daughter meant well, trying to make her mom to see how beautiful she was. It wasn't about the dress at all.

Agree entirely. People get so triggered by this type of content. The daughter came from the place of love and well intentions. Her mom was choosing the dress to hide her unfounded insecurities in it, not the right dress for her. She didn't have any pronounced body issues - that few extra pounds or mommy belly can be dealt with proper spanx undergarments and right size of the dress. The chosen dress did nothing for her. It was actually a bit young, meant for taller person and the color was off. She would be much better off in the first one in her size (out of the 3 she tried on).

Ultimately I do think the bride's choice matters the most and if she felt like that was the dress for her, then that's it. But I feel that her daughter's heart was in the right place and was actually right about that last dress. It looked 80s or at best 90s style. It also looked like it didn't fit properly on the shoulders, which is an issue if they really are short in time, it was also very wrinkled and I don't mean the design, I mean the material looked like it needed a good iron. In saying that, I did not like the consultant here. Whilst, yes, they only had 72 days before the wedding, her repeating that over and over was unnecessary and must have left the bride feeling rushed. The first two dresses were over budget and they also looked like they'd need a fair bit of altering to fit properly. Which may have contributed to the bride's feeling of unease when trying them on. The consultant did little to make the dresses look as good as they could have, with clips or whatever to hold them on in the right places. I felt like she was trying to rush them through the appointment. They had 72 days, not 72 hours. Are they really that limited with off the rack dresses? Sadly I feel that the bride was so caught up with the thought that she was bigger (which she really wasn't that big at all), a mum and an older bride, that she had to dress like that and not as a pretty woman who deserved to look like a woman first and not as a mum. I hope I'm making sense.

I'm sorry but the daughter was absolutely right. If we disregard personal preference for style (and by this I mean how dowdy that dress is) and just look at some of the more objective things: That color is probably the worst she could have gone for. She's a winter and that sort of oyster shade her dress had washed her out. Rewatch the last to dresses. Pay attention to her skin, especially in her under eye area. The second dress complements her skin tone much better whereas the last one washes her out. Now the neckline... I'm but it's just not a good choice for her. The second dress actually had its waistline in a very good place for her. I wish they could have gotten her a simple, structured A-line dress with a corset, in a white satin material and a neckline as far away from that last dress as possible. That would have been been so flattering on her. She's a beautiful woman. She could have looked so much better in somthing that would still suit her style and preference. Oh and to quote her daughter "I hate the stupid flower."

A moms eyes and a twenty something daughters eyes see things differently. Even if she sees her mom as sexy and young, mom has children and is older. Mom was right to get what made HER confident.

Love the third dress. So absolutely strange the daughter’s being so stubbornly insistent. Glad the mother/bride remained joyful and steadfast.

The bride is beautiful! The dress is the perfect color, it shows offer figure, shows off her tattoos, add maybe a string of pearls or something, and she's stunning! I'm glad she stood up for herself. Plus. The daughter seemed to have forgotten they only had a limited pool of dresses to choose from.

Not a nice assistant. I would not want to give her my money. Its stressful enough without her telling the client she's not got enough time. I would go somewhere else

While I respect Mum, of course, I thought the colour of the dress she chose drained her. It just wasn't flattering. I hope she had a great wedding but I just didn't like the dress.
@looloo40292 жыл бұрын
I thought that the dress drained her and made her look washed out too. Thought I must be wrong until I read your comment. I am relieved that someone else saw that the colour didn’t suit her.

I feel the daughter, even though she's a bit blunt. I'm very close with my mother and she's so insecure sometimes and doesn't realize how pretty she is and goes above and beyond to hide her true body and self behind things that aren't beautiful just cause she thinks she doesn't deserve them, not cause they're actually her taste. So I sometimes get frustrated for her and tell her she doesn't look good or what she would look good in.

I have to agree with the daughter. It looks like a prom dress. Yay, if she likes it, it's her day but you wouldn't catch me dead in that thing. lol
@mariposavioleta90072 жыл бұрын
This is one time I actually agree with someone other than the bride. Her daughter is right the first dress looked amazing her and with the right shapewear she wouldn't have to worry about the area from her c-section, which looks completely fine but I understand it's how she feels. She looked more slender in that first dress than the other two dresses.

What is this obsession ,,"you look like a princess , ' when apart from Diana's monstrosity, has any one else in the Royal family wore such a dress I think these young ones watch to many Disney films

@@elizabethmcmullen5845 As someone who was a toddler when Diana got married, I grew up with the idea of beautiful dresses being big poofy gowns with puffed sleeves. Even Anne of Green Gables thought so! I don't think Diana's gown was a monstrosity. It's just not current fashion or old enough to have vintage cachet.

The dress's shape was good for her figure... But the color and fabric made it look like she was wearing a paper. She looked way better on the mermaid dress.

A bride is entitled to wear what makes herself happy and feel beautiful on her big day, anyone else should respect that, Seriously~
@catladyfromky41422 жыл бұрын
And everyone DID respect that. She got what she wanted, didn't she? Having an opinion is what she brought those people for. And having a different opinion than the bride =/ not allowing the bride to get what she wants.
