I left a comment on klienfeld's episodes about how they could do to expand the sizes in their stock especially considering that bridal sizes run up to six sizes smaller and most women average a size 12 to 16. The responses in the comments were so extremely horrible. People really think that because a bride is a larger size that she doesn't deserve to be happy or beautiful on her wedding day. I just can't say enough to thank Jo and Al for opening up the eyes of so many people to the struggle that so many people go through. They truly are angels and I'm so grateful that there are stores like theirs and I hope that say yes to the dress finds more stores like theirs to tell real stories about real brides beyond size four.

It's kinda like all ableism people really don't understand how easily changes in body shape, capacity, and ability happen to people regardless of who they are. 1 most episodes they show on here are super old, so even if someone of their staff did see it, it wouldn't really matter 2 I have a feeling they simply just do not care. They have plenty of "skinny" brides that they don't need the sales of bigger brides. You'd think with the amount of women they have had and shown that had issues fitting into their stupid dresses, that they would expand their sizes (and maybe they have, like I said those episodes they show us are VERY old. But I doubt it) because they should want everyone to feel comfortable and leave with a dress they love. Not feel embarrassed, can't fit into anything, and either settling or leaving without anything.

I have to say, I never plan on getting married again; but plans change. As a plus size woman, I'm not going to bother going to kleinfeld's or any of the other bridal store here in the US. I'll spend the money on a plane ticket to England so that I can go and see Jo and Al. I know that there I'll be treated with honest warmth & compassion. These two women care about their clients they understand the trauma that dress shopping especially for Formal Wear that women who aren't a size 2 go through. That right there is worth it for me.

Well, Jo and Al know their inventory, how it looks on different body types, and they know what they’re doing in general. When I worked at a bridal salon, I had a knack for picking out the right dress for the brides. I can look at someone and “see” a dress on them, whether bridal, or special occasion. My best friend, a guy, always insists on bringing me along when he needs business attire. He trusts my judgement and taste. Mind you, I can’t dress myself worth beans. But others? I’ve had good luck so far.

Trying on wedding dresses that actually fit you obviously makes the experience so enjoyable as opposed to going into a regular bridal shop and having them use 20 different clips to keep the dress up because you're five sizes too big for it. That's humiliating. I wish there were more of these stores around the world

I hope she takes what she saw in the mirror and applies it to a new wardrobe. She’s a very pretty woman with great curves…I understand her crying. Several decades ago I was going through photos and pulled out a picture of a stranger. (At 5’8” and 120 lbs, I was extremely thin then but had been told a big butt by my family who teased me for it. My mother was particularly cruel.) I looked at the photo and thought..”who is that pretty girl?” It was me. I was so shocked, then angry and sad and then determined to change how I saw myself. I’m 80lbs overweight partly because I am severely disabled and cannot exercise and partly because after that experience, I don’t feel ugly at this weight. I’m 71, am told by people I barely that I look 50 and still have a great set of curves. I will never go back to the mindset of that abused child and adult!

actually the one aspect that is often reoccurring IS that these potential.couples have been together for far .a longer time than many average the sized. women which says either : what do you mean , unconfirmed, or , are you holding on to your fiance because you.belueve he us the best OR the best YOU can .Having been tall , .lean , but not over confident I had had close male friendships since childhood & even a previous engagement SO in spite of the insecurities mast of us experience knew why I married the man I did & deeply believe UNLESS the above questions can be answered no one is ready for being able to live, support & care for every aspect marriage demands It is a roller coaster adventure into the unpredictable . At least mine was & remained so.for 45 years .,

It would be so cool to have these ladies pick my dress. My wedding dress went straight into the trashcan the very next day. It was all bad, I want to redo it someday with better circumstances.
