This is a great video - thank you. What if the suspicious case for our family was not investigated properly in the State of VA, was determined a suicide and closed in 2018, yet 10 out of the 10 factors appear to exist? Should we send this video to the City and Police Department that (mis)handled the case?

Sadly this law doesn’t address the lack of integrity in the Sheriff-Coroner system. The work of the coroner, whose legal mandate is to determine cause and manner of death, is severely diluted when the coroner is merged into the sheriff. Perhaps if Solano County had an independent coroner, rather than rotating sheriff deputies who act as the coroner, this law might never had been necessary. The sheriff-coroner system is broken, folks. If you really want to make a difference in death investigations, then reinstate the coroner independent from the sheriff’s department.
