When my boys were little, as a single mom I truly needed this kind of support. It came in the form of my backyard neighbor who always told her teenagers to mow my lawn (front and back!) every time they would mow theirs. Their mom would tell them to refuse any kind of payment. How long did they do this? 3 YEARS!!! The only reason they stopped is because they moved. Her and her family remain in my prayers to this day so many years later. I will never forget this neighbor she was a gem...a true Angel! This work that yall did on this man's home is a "love thy neighbor" transformation. I truly appreciate it, as if it were done to me. God bless and keep you and your family blessed!

In the bible, "Love they neighbor ..." means, in proper context, to "love thy fellow Hebrew Tribesman". If the OT is to be believed, they went not long after that to commit ethnic cleansing and genocide on "non-neighbors", because they were guilty of Hebrew religious error of worshiping the wrong deities. Always quote the bible with context in mind, so that errors and misrepresentations like this are avoided.

It just baffles me that the pavement/sidewalk is on someone's property, if the city doesn't provide it's own paving for pedestrians to walk on then it should at least have the responsibility to maintain the ones on people's properties so they don't get as bad as this. If you slid and broke your back on moss you wouldn't know whether to sue the city or the owner of the house.
@boredchika
@boredchika 2 жыл бұрын
@@krashd I believe it's not usually on a person's property, the homeowner is not allowed to build structures on the boulevard or any structures that are built can be removed without penalty to the city and the homeowner could be billed for the demolition. However, most cities have laws that state that the homeowner is responsible for upkeep of the sidewalk and boulevard in front of their property.
@premiumagain5957
@premiumagain5957 2 жыл бұрын
This doesnt happen where I live because the sidewalks are ALWAYS the city's responsibility and no cities want to be sued for a sidewalk... I don't get it, it should be a city thing I mean no one should struggle to go where they want no matter how they go from point a to point b.

A European here. I find this fascinating. Where I come from, sidewalks are owned by the city and the maintenance program is well-managed. There is no way in hell a sidewalk would get to this point on a residential street. Also we do not have front lawns like this one here, if a lawn belongs to the house (i.e. is owned by the house owner) it would be fenced entirely.
@magpie1744
@magpie1744 2 жыл бұрын
I'm in the US but in a different part of the country than this video. All our sidewalks are a combo. We have to keep grass, shrubs and trees trimmed to not encroach on sidewalk. The Cities maintain busy area sidewalks. We will be fined if our yard gets out of hand. Especially weeds. I'm in a desert area so our yards are really different than these videos. Front yards in most areas are not fenced. Most backyards are in the Southwest. In the Midwest it is common to have no fences. The yards just run together.

@@stoneandearthandsailing4127 ya, true... they could be a lot more mindful of the dust they're kicking up. Run the edgers first, then grab a few push brooms and shovels to get the bulk of the debris, use the leaf blower for the LEAFS and perhaps tidy up the concrete, then pressure washing would handle the rest. (and yes, this is how i do it, and it works well, exept i dont have a leaf blower) and no, this doesnt mean i dont appreaciate their good intentions. but they could still find ways to be more courteous. you can ask anyone, chances are they despise leaf blowers. i personaly cant stand the sound of them, on top of all the allergens they put into the air in spring and summer. "Approximately 5 pounds of particulate matter per leaf blower per hour are blown into the air and can take hours and even days to settle. This particulate matter precipitates asthma attacks, exacerbates allergies, and can cause lung cancer." i'd rather sit in the damn smoking section.

Skilled tradesmen dont have time or energy for pro bono work. First of all its manual labour (not just standing while a gas weed eater or pressure washer does all the work) so its tiring and wears your body out. There is only so much work we can do before we pay physical consequences which can even effect our ability to work the next day. Repetitive stress injuries effect every person i know who works in trades. Tradesmen need to work in the most awkward positions, crouch, crawl, reach, climb, etc which tends to cause injuries. Second we are already over worked. Ive never advertised my business and i have to turn away work because i dont have time and book months in advance. Also all of my friends and family call on me to help them with any project or issue they have around the house (as if my own honey do list doesn't keep me busy enough) Third, repairs cost money because materials arent free. Often what seems like a simple fix could cost a lot, for example window leaks often result in window frame rot, as well as framing rot in the wall under the window and drywall or plaster damage. A little caulking and paint cant fix that Fourth and lastly, legal liability and insurance, no explanation needed for that i hope. So while I would love to have the time and energy to help out my community it isnt realistic. I would either be making paying customers wait and losing income or wearing myself thin working during my recovery time and risking injury.

what do you mean back to life? plants growing only along the cleancut borders and monotonous grass seems like definiton of fake and dead yard. should've planted some plants there if they wanted it to be "back to life", maybe some flowers or a couple bushes

This may be 9 mos ago and my 1st time seeing this project video, I must say the result couldn't have been more perfect. What's truly amazing is that the homeowner may not be paying,with compensation coming from you tube, every penny was earned through very hard work. And all it cost me to receive the valuable inspiration was a subscription and a like. No motivator could have inspired me more than witnessing actual hard work with satisfying smiles coming from the workers. The highest value comes with the dignity of work. Laziness is unnatural. Mediocrity is unnatural. Working to reach perfection in everything we do is more natural than anything in life. May you guys and your supportive families receive the highest blessings for all your excellence in all the good that you do.

At the end of your videos make sure to run the before and after photos, by each individual section of the yard. That will help you get views and likes, the before and afters are what a lot of people search for. I would also put an imprint of your business name on them in the bottom corner and post online. Just a couple helpful tips.

Mind blowing transformation! You three are absolutely amazing please keep up the charitable jobs. It's not something that these folks that let their yard get over grown can do on their own for one reason or another. So, for the 3 of you to be out there doing what you're doing is huge! And so helpful but professional and good at it too! Just because its a free job for the homeowner doesn't mean you all are out there doing a half a$$ job ya know. That's so incredible to me that you treat it as if its a high paying job! Just a win win win situation all around 🙌 sending loving prayers to you and all your family AND for the folks you help out. Talk to you next time 🙃😉🤗
