As the UE your Colony Ships actually make for great Siege ships due to their abundance of support slots and cheap hull. So for a situation like your's I'd use 1 proper combat ship(preferably a Protector) with 3 Siege Ships using the Colony Ship model and use them as your siege and invasion fleet with your main fleet the way it is with a leader to kill opposing fleets before you siege down their planets.

1:01:00 - You can see the exact planet output. You have to mouse over on the planet name, or type, or the colonizable/uncolonizable text - it will show all the details including anomalies output, population slots and happines due to planet type. 1:14:20 Consider making siege ships from the settler class. They are cheap and have atlest 3 support modules (engine + 2x A2S Slugs) and if you decide that you dont need them you can retrofit with colonization module and use them as colony ships.

If you want a badass siege ship, use your colony ship instead. It has a ton of support slots. You can strap siege modules onto it, optional engines and then have it follow your real ships around.

I would say UE, which seems to be the overwhelming majority opinion for good reason. It's interesting and different. You'll learn some new strategies too.

I'd say stay as UE and start an Alliance, using your influence not to simply devour but to force diplomatic stuff YOUR way, since the pressure system now has a lot of new stuff aswell! (The Sophons already asked you aswell!)

I dont mind what you choose XD also about the minor civs having base influence per turn, i believe it is their attitude that allows it? If they are hostile warmongers, they dont have a base increase per turn and if they are peaceful they gain some

While you didn't need two engine modules on Hadri Lenko's ship, his existing engine is still outdated compared to your mainline ships. As a result, he's holding that fleet back by 1 movement point. The new population type that completed the quest was of course the amblyr you assimilated on Noverus. :) The Sheredyn ship bonus is very good, it might counteract the unremarkable population bonus. Staying UE would be nice, but the problem I'm having is that setting up 6 trade routes is insane. You'd have to commit hard to the dust techs now and hope you got there by the end of the game. The Mezari bonuses look very powerful, but if you're serious about a military victory Sheredyn might be the way to go.

At the end of the Sheredyn path you also get access to a battle tactic that gives 50% Hull penetration to Projectile weapons. So if he really wants to go down the military path that is the way to go.

I don't remember what the UE bonus is but the Mezari Bonus(in addition to the +15% science) is a building that gives +2 approval per science building in system.

Are you a fan of development funds? the Minor faction 'really powerful' you can pay the Strategic resource 15x and you have a 20/70% chance to adapt that trait to your empire pop.

I know this is an old video, but back then, your statement about the A2S Slugs for sieging systems i disagree with. If you siege down a system to 0 manpower, it can still take a very long time (number of pops on enemy planet) until you can take over the planet. Depending on the number of defensive system improvements, it is possible that conscripting a pop to manpower can yield more manpower than you can put on the planet in a turn. I've had several instances, where a 0 manpower system defended so well, that it took me 30+ turns to finally take it over. In my opinion, a far easier way is to add a lot of manpower modules to ships and simply overrun the enemy. If your enemy is outnumbered 2:1, you can easily take over a system in a single invasion turn while of course taking a few hundred or so casualties. But compared to a 30 turn invasion that will eat up basically all your manpower, you'll spend way less in the long run and get results quicker. Obviously, pirates cant conscript, but against players, this can be a serious issue.

Hey SB retrofit colony ships early game with dbl engines, they have a free slot, and dont forget to upgrade outdated engines because they dont upgrade unless you install the new engine modules

Go Mezari or Sheredyn please the United empire is boring and their quest involves getting trading companies. Mezari, we both know they are by far the best. UE is for suckers only XD I'll be disappointed if you go UE as you're not a sucker SB you are a champion, a legend and the supreme intelligence. Science late game is far more important and powerful and allows you to get more techs that are interesting. Mezari have the superior population, quest and quest rewards which include massive science buffs and a passive approval buff though its behind a meh tech. Generally as Mezari and sheredyn you'll still have more influence than you'll need anyways Sheredyn are cool but winning through military isn't exactly fast but the military buffs are VERY STRONG. The UE has to get trading companies and get 1 time use expensive building which is pretty meh for a bonus.
