I had the same problem with my HF hoist. I upgraded to the air actuated cylinder, what a work saver. The other big advantage is being able to operate the lift function remotely.

last time i put a BB with a 400 trans and no need for adjustment bar on top ! Just a chain it has enough room !

Pretty sweet video guys. A thing holding me back from doing this was actually because I was wondering if my crane could take the weight. Did you have it in the outermost hole? - Because to my knowledge that V8+trans combination would weigh more than 1/2 ton. Wasn't that why the crane brokers?

A complete 350 weights 575. Than subtract for the starter alternator and all that jazz, and a th400 only weighs 140lbs. Well under a half ton. Could even do it with a big block

Hello and greetings from Texas. I will say that we had a hard time getting the passenger side bolt through the motor mount. We kept trying to lift and maneuver the passenger side of the motor with crow bars to get it positioned right. What solved our problem was lifting on the opposite side. Motor positioned in perfectly after that and bolt went right on through. It’s really just common sense and not cutting corners. Preparation is key. Have all your tools ready. Just last week I took the Chevelle on its maiden voyage. The car hasn’t driven on the road in 15 years. It was a good feeling when I drove it to the gas station last week. Good luck on your project.

Hello. Cool video. How close would you say is a 1970 Chevy Nova engine bay to a 1970 Chevelle? I have a Nova with a i6 250 I want to swap a v8 350 I'm building into.

MuscleCarMadness The engine bays and frames are very similar as far as dimensions go. You shouldn’t have a problem; however, Novas (x-bodies) do have smaller engine bays. Not sure how much is the difference though.

There is a little less room but as long as you stay with the small block your good to go. Novas even came with Big Blocks so you know they can fit.

Rob Tamburelli I agree. Unfortunately KZbin has been strict regarding what music you can use. KZbin Creators have to rely on low quality music that is copyright free. I wish I could use Back in Black. Ha
