Hey Lever. II had to put an aftermarket tube in my 307SBC. I have oil blowing out the tube and I was wondering why. I think I know now. There was no lower tube. The assemble that I bought only had the upper tube. Or maybe my tube is too short. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Do all sbc have lower tubes? I'm confused since I ordered the lower tube and the tube that was in my other sbc won't fit in the lower tube. The lower tube will fit in the hole where the dipstick goes.

Thank you. Nice video. I recently acquired a 1929 Ford Phaeton which was hot rodded & rebuilt from the ground up by a guy in MD. I was told it now has a Chevy 350 ci engine that was originally out of a 79 Vette. After the car arrived from MD to my place in CA I checked the oil level and to my surprise the dip stick was sheared off somewhere above the high level mark and was unable to give me a reading. I am trying to figure out how long the original dipstick would have been for that engine? The oil gauge on the dash reads that there is sufficient oil/pressure. But who knows? Is there a serial number stamped on the engine which I can use to verify its origin & details? If so, where would it be and would I then go to a parts store and simply order a dip stick? If not, then what? I'm learning as I go....thanks again
@ThrottleStopRacing2 жыл бұрын
Best method I can think of is to do an oil change and then fill one quart short and mark the low level on your new dip stick. Then add the last quart and once again mark your dip stick, but this time for full. Glenn

Hello my dipstick is broken in the Olsmobile 307 engine I would like to know if I can remove the rest of the tube by the oil pan?
@wcsd95773 жыл бұрын
My brother in law and I are restoring a 1969 Camaro with the 302 DZ and it's been a long time since either of us worked on cars. The original motor was pulled from the car decades ago and left outside and we're taking it apart to have it cleaned up and determine whether it can be rebuilt, which seems likely. We both saw this tube and stared at it for a minute or two and had no idea what it was, until later this evening I had some quiet time to myself to think and guessed what it was. So to remove it, you would back it out in the opposite direction it was installed?
