You answered my question at the end about the filter. That’s a great point about clogging up the pump by placing your filter before the pump. Thank you

I really like your videos. Very professional and informative and for some reason I feel like you remind me a lot of my grandfather, he's passed on now at age 84 so it's nice to see some resemblance that brings back fond memories.

Very good explanation. I bought one of these professionel flaring tools from sykes pickavant and bent the same steel line as in the video but I still have some sealing problems at the pump fitting. The double flare is not sealing well and I tried it several times. Good Video! Greetings from germany.

Good video, the only suggestion I would have is if you had used a silver marker we could have seen the bend lines better but I learned a lot!

Thanks, the marker would have been better as you say.

i got 1990 k5 blazer 5.7 had it rebuild with a few up grades everything is pretty mush stock i up graded the cam to a howard cam rattler lift 225/230 duration 0.50/227/235 centerline 03 i still have the factory swirl port heads i got headers 3' pipes all the way back i up graded my torque converter to 2000 to 2400 stall and 4:10 gears i just put my engine in about a week ago it was a tbi so i converted it to carb...im having problem trying to get it to run right i put a brandnew edelbrock carb 1406 on it..i got 12-887 holley regulator set it to 6 psi i got it to run starts up good but its backfiring and popping out my exhaust ..i have a vacuum port on my regulator but did not hook it up dont no if thats the problem or not..or is the carb to small for my set up...you can smell the burning and the raw gas in park when u accelerate and give it more gas it sound good but at idling its popping and backfiring like someome popping fire crackers..tell me what you think

Great video, thanks. I just subscribed after reading the comments about you building a C-10. My 1983 C-10, conversion 250/350 is what brought me here. btw was that copper line or copper clad?

A double flare is not necessary for a carbureted fuel line because the pressure is low at 7psi or less. Brake lines however need a double flare because of the high pressure generated in the system when you slam the brakes if need be, could exceed 1400psi!

If I was making many flares I’d invest in the 1 arm bandit flare maker that comes with various dies.

@@ThrottleStopRacing I'm dressing a 283 for my c10 and I'm getting a headache. Came with power packs and iron 4bbl with a non tagged 4gc. Watched a good amount of your videos while I'm saving for parts. Not sure what way to go with it.

I went with inverted flare, and everyone is saying I have to use AN fittings. So why not use inverted flare? Short term failure?
@ThrottleStopRacing2 жыл бұрын
If it is 26Degrees you need to use AN fittings (expensive).

Seems like a guesstimation of where to start and where the bend will end. I wonder if a close hanger would help mach it up. I tried making this once and ended up cutting off the other end and using a rubber hose, this job will piss you off and most likely have multiple attempts.

I always end up with a couple of false starts. Tube is cheap, keep working at it, it gets better.
