A forever white belt. I actually like irritating upper belts who can’t tap me after 5:00 of rolling. Makes me question their jiu jitsu. But I am not a submission specialist…yet. It’s nice to know that I’m pretty confident in staying safe and sometimes escaping. The subs will come after the upper belts are surprised they get swept by a 52 y.o. white belt. 🤙🏽

I’m a 3 stripe blue belt that started later in life which in a lot of ways has benefited me. Mostly because I don’t want to get hurt but still manage to compared to the younger guys. But what this did was made me very difficult to tap, I focused on surviving and escapes…which is what you are supposed to focus on as a white belt but rarely anyone does. People always want to know how to go in for the kill, but I truly never cared. My game is still to let the younger guys tire out, play a little rope a dope, then perhaps of a sub opens up I take it but not always. I don’t care about points, I like to accept bad positions, patients is a virtue.
