I have a question for Spencer from SB Mowing…. When you are doing this volunteer work, off camera, do any of the neighbors ever come over and offer to help you rake up or haul off cuttings, etc? Do they offer you a bottle of water or a drink? It just seems like the neighbors would be so appreciative and happy about the messy yard being cleaned up that they would offer to come out and help you, if they had the ability to do so! I SURE WOULD. I would be so excited that somebody was cleaning it up and maybe I could learn something in the process! 😃

It’s great that Spencer does this for people. But, if people were just neighborly and took responsibility for how their own neighborhood looked, he wouldn’t have to do things like this. It seems like all the neighbors were aware why the homeowner was unable to take care of the lawn, so went didn’t they help out instead of relying on a total stranger to clean up their neighborhood? The world needs more people like Spencer in it.
@J4Julz2 ай бұрын
Exactly. Neighbors should be neighborly, not waiting for someone else to come in and do what needs to be done. When my neighbors lost their dad a few years ago, they were gone out of town and busy taking care of their mom for a while. I was taking care of their animals, and since I knew they would be drained when they got home, I mowed their property so they could have a moment to recover. It's just what you do!

Enjoyed the image-over. I was really hoping you would chop down that cedar tree in front next to the garage/sidewalk. But any improvement is better than the way it was. Truthfully simply mowing an overgrown lawn makes the #1 improvement in these places, edging second, and then taking out overgrown trees in front of the house. As hard as the ivy was, it was in back and I would have just trimmed it back. It’s all going to grow back pretty quickly unless you’re there monthly spraying it with weed killer… a time-killer.

A tiny critique I have, though, is that you don’t rake up some of the debris you leave behind. I know you addresses this in another video and it’d take you too long, but I’m not suggesting you rake up everything, but things like the garden beds and the huge clumps of grass. It doesn’t have to be perfect but a little more effort here would be amazing. I know grass will decompose returning nutrients, etc, but what do these properties look like in 4 weeks? Is that really doing better for the community. Just my two cents. Keep being great!
