Thank you so much for showing that trimmings are blown back into the yard, not the road. My daughter drives a Vespa scooter, and lawn trimming are very dangerous, can cause her to loose traction, it affects motorcycles and bikers as well. Wonderful job!

Incredible transformation once again Spencer. Just goes to show that a little hard work can make a place look so much better again. I couldn't help but think as I watched you pull all those twigs and branches from the front yard, that wasn't from falling trees, that was from people dumping their stuff in that abandoned yard. Such amazing work! Thank you for doing this. I wish there was someone like you in the Seattle area. I work for a nonprofit helping seniors with all sorts of things. One of the largest unmet needs in the community is help with yard work. Seniors on fixed incomes usually can't afford landscapers or things like that. What you're doing is awesome!

Still don't understand why the property owner doesn't do something with the property instead of just letting it sit there and rot. They could at least sell the property to someone who would, repair if the house is repairable, or tear it down and build a new house.

Some people just don’t have money laying around, not only that to sell a house that had a fire I’m sure isn’t easy. It may be damaged inside and whoever buys it would have to pour money in it to fix it.

Unfortunately, things happen in that can take you over. I feel that life happened to whomever lived in this house, and they could not handle it. This is the after math. I pray that all is well or getting for the home owner. I thank God that someone was willing and able to cut the grass and make the property look better.

They may be fighting the insurance company. Sometimes that can take years. Most insurance companies are happy to take your money but don’t want to pay out when the time comes. I remember a property Spencer did a while ago that there was a fire and the guy was still fighting the insurance company after 3 or 4 years later. Plus he was fighting the city about the property.

I don’t have any superlatives or adjectives to add to what others have already said, but that is a stunning transformation, Spencer. All the more so since there was so much poison ivy. I liked the view from the side showing how you tamed that overgrowth and found a sidewalk. The neighbors must be so happy to see it now. There’s a house on my street that I wish the owner would keep up. You can’t even see the house from the street due to un maintained trees,ornamental ivy and kudzu, not to mention all the fallen leaves. They like it that way and don’t want help.

It only takes one property going to seed to bring down the value of a neighborhood’s properties. I’m glad you are helping to maintain the integrity of these neighborhoods by cleaning up these neglected properties. If the neighbors see the abandoned properties having decent curb views once again , they can chose to maintain them if they have time and resources. What you’re giving these neighborhoods is a chance to survive.

Have you thought of approaching a waste disposal company and asking them to donate a skiff that you can use to dispose of yard debris and trash in exchange for a plug? Might make things a lot easier.

I used to live near a city that took drastic action about 20 years ago against blighted properties. In that time they have razed just under 7,000 blighted properties. Blighted properties are not good for the community and action must be taken.

Don’t feel bad about not tackling the downed trees & all in the backyard. It’s not your thing & you’re not set up for it - if we want to see that, then there’s Justin with his new wood chipper or Erik and his massive equipment! LOL I’ve always said, plenty of room on the internet for different people doing different yard work content. You do your thing, which we all still love, and others will do their 2-day jobs, throw in handyman stuff, clear all the green down to the dirt (which I personally don’t like at all). Spencer, why is it that most of the time you go to a property with poison ivy and you don't bring one of those white suits to protect yourself? I've seen other guys like Midlife Stockman wear a suit and he tackles it every time.

He's wearing long pants, long sleeves, and gloves. Poison ivy isn't radiation, you don't need a Hazmat suit, you just need to cover your skin. (And NEVER burn the clippings.)

SB Mowing, the front yard looks beautiful! The backyard would take days! The house and property needs to be sold to someone who has the money to restore the house or have it torn down to build a new one. The owner could live in it or sell it for a family to live in it. It is a shame sitting like that, and for the community too. Wonderful the work you did!

I work for a city. Each home is minimum $10,000 to demolish and get the land back in order, and that’s without a basement or trees being removed. Our budget allows us to do 6-8 a year, but we have over 150 on our list. It’s not as cut and dried as you think.
