Stephen Brown you are funny during normal times, but a complete breath of fresh air during this time we must all stay at home for our safety. I have the tool roll and the A5. Now I need that pocket!! Thank you for it all, including your “boom” comments. 😂❤️

I saw the big one and was imedietly impressed. I wanted to see a more pocket sized one. Was full expecting to go and pay 80 plus usd after watching the review. Saw that they were 35, left review and bought one. Thank you Brown. I want to see more of this person's work.

Thanks (again) Stephen. I popped over to Lochby's website and now have a couple items soon to head my direction. Not only am I impressed by your review and of the products he sells, but also of how he's handled the website/ordering and his super speedy tracking-number response (package to follow shortly)! Well done Christopher!!

Holy smokes! I placed my order Monday afternoon and it arrived Wednesday afternoon. Not only did Chris do a phenomenal job getting them to the USPS quickly, but the USPS used a bullet train instead of the normal Pony Express. Btw: I really am impressed with his Field and Pocket Journals and his insert pads. Well made, thoughtfully made, useful and attractive. What's not to like? Thanks, Stephen.

Love the start when you zoom out to see the products. It's almost a "If you want to see these products you will have to put up with the legs of the tripod". Only much better said. And the reason I watch so many of your videos. You can tell I don't have a customer facing role.

I have the tool roll, and just ordered two field journals. Your review is spot on! The attention to detail, use of quality material, and design features! Chris is on a roll and will make this a standard for field artists, campers, outdoor enthusiasts and journal users. Thanks for making such a great quality product!! Sbrebrown, your review is great as well, all the features you point out are spot on. ClaudiaSJI

Great detailed reviews require a bit of time....no apologies needed! Absolutely LOVE this review. And frankly the price of the large one is astounding. My go to paper is 7mm lined Rhodia but I tend to write only on one side, so thanks for the measurement on spacing on the Tomoe River, for sure a 2-sided FP paper. WILL buy the large one today!

I like 'em! The waxed canvas is, indeed, very cool, as you and someone with the handle "Cait" said before me. I also like the 68 gm Tomoe River paper better than the 52. I'm going to look into them. Love the expressive Dutch face. It'd be great in poker games ... unless or until you are dealt a hand worthy of a Lochby.

Stephen, the "dutch" faces segment was priceless😊😊. Sounds like a really great product, and I could tell from the review how "excited" (enthusiastic, maybe) you were about the product whilst doing the review. One question, and not sure if you can answer this, but the outside loop if used consistently with a larger pen, will it not "expand" so that when putting in a smaller pen, the pen will be loose? Now off to go visit the Lochby website:-)

It is an elastic material, so I think the risk of stretching it out is definitely there. I will say it is a pretty stout stretchy band

Brilliant, Brilliant video. You've convined me. I'm in Australia so if I was to buy then I would have currency conversion, import duty and then GST. $50USD = $80 AUS. So with import duty it would take over the $100 mark. It would still be a good product for that price.

One thing that concerns me about these products is the use of synthetic material on the interior. My experience with nylon is that it degrades over time (we're talking years). So these are not necessarily items that you will hand down to your kids. I may be dead wrong about this particular nylon but I would have preferred to see a heavy-duty cotton instead. But given the price, it is probably not such an issue. You can just buy another. It's not like some Filson product that you pay hundreds of bucks for.

I must add one thing more: You missed an opportunity with the tool roll and the shower scene. On Lochby's website, he has a video that shows that the tool kit can also be used as a Dopp Kit (toiletries). While you were wearing your waterproof hat in the, ahem, "rain" you could have filled the tool kit with a razor, some shampoo, a Rite-in-the-Rain (waterproof) notebook and a Fisher Space Pen (yeah, I know, I know, Space Pens are ballpoints but they write under water, through grease and, as far as I know, through glops of shampoo) all for taking those fleeting notes that only occur when you're shaving or singing in the shower. Maybe a "how do we like it now" sequel?

Oh good God. I’m scared now. I was just concerned until the shower scene. He’s really gone over the edge, but maybe it was only a matter of time before he filmed himself wearing nothing but a hat and a notebook in the shower. In looking back I can see there were warning signs. Maybe our relentless demand for videos was just too much pressure? People, did you have to ask him the same questions, over and over again? “How many pens do you have? What is your favorite pen? Will the nib flex? Are you really as girthy as you claim to be?” Now look what you’ve done! He has assorted personas, whispers asides to himself, speaks in strange voices and mutters jokes that only he seemed to understand. There’s a stuffed lobster that was presented to us a British peer, and he speaks to a full size skeleton with a monocle. No one normal does these things. Collectively they tell the sad, sad story of a once brilliant mind that’s gone, to borrow an expression, “Boom. Appelboom.”
