SC05. Siemens KTP HMI Touch Screen Replacement

What do I need to replace when only the backlight led is broken? Is it inside the Touch screen unit or inside the frame and housing unit`? Unsure which spare part to order. IT is KTP400 Comfort and I also have a KTP Mono which also needs new backlight. Do you know if those parts are interchangeable?

I don't think you could easily find the spare for fixing the backlight. it most likely comes from the board at 4:05. Maybe have to consider replace a new one.

@@electricalautomation Interesting. I have 3 broken KTP400 to experiment now. The basic, basic mono and the comfort one. I talked to a shop guy and I hope to get info which parts are interchangable. The Mono one I got still shows something on the screen but it has something like...black bubbles so I hope it is just the display frame unit broken. What I fear is I need to replace the full unit ;)

Hello my friend, my HMI doesn't have the white issue on each side. Looks like the LED light is leaking

@@electricalautomation What do you mean! The writing on the screen is blurry white in the middle, It used to be exposed to dew or sun tricks...🙏

It did leave too much gum inside and easy to kick them out, if not you properly could use alcohol.

Good. Thanks!!My HMI does not load the windows screen. It says "Siemens" trying to load but it doesn't come out of it. What could it be? It's a TP1200.

You can manually shift the TP HMI into 'Transfer' mode and then try to download

if you have the TIA portal project, you can adjust the.HMI to a different size od the screen without redo the project. Because you can not upload the project from HMI, unless originally it was set to be upload and using a card.
